I think it might have something to do with the position of the system. I'm going to try to make the jump gate to Kepler and see how that goes.

i got lazy and put jump holes to Kepler and Leeds. Both of those work fine. Then I tried to make a jump hole to New Berlin and the game crashed. i think that where you can make jumps to in your system depends on it's universal positioning.

Arggggghhhhh! I am simple minded fellow from Dallas, Texas (The real life place) and I simply do not get this. All I want to do is add a planet or two to an existing system. I may of missed it (I am stupid) please highlight the part where I could where I could do this! Thanks in advance!

If anyone needs to learn how to mod names and make new ones, there is a really good walkthrough here: http://forum.duwx.com/viewthread.php?tid=44&page=
I tried it, works really well, its a walkthrough on making a ship, a few posts down it gets into name & info card moding.

What I ahve found out is that the maximum is ca. 100000 in all directions.
But I sink you can change the over all wide of the system in the universe.ini with the value NavMapScale.

I have tried to use the tutorial a few times by now... and failed all of them for some reason. Here is an sample of the error that i get:

I open the li01.INI file in the UNIVERSE\SYSTEM\LI01 folder with the BiniQDU program WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING AT ALL! Then i save it again DECOMPRESSED. I restart my Server and Freelancer and now i cant see any ships at all in the game!

Am i missing a compression program, or am i doing something wrong? I hope i can get an answer here so i dont have to make a post and annoy the entire community with my irritating questions.

I was wondering if someone could help me get my hands on Bini, so I can edit these files... and fix my jumpgate!

Check under Editing Utilities on the front page. It's named something like Freelancer ini uncompressor

I just wanted to say that I have tried this mod, and it works great... I'm adding in a new planet, and a bas orbiting it using the files from Li01... Hope it all works! Thank you Dawn for the amazing tutorial!

I have used your mod Dawn, and it is sweet! I am loving it to death, and since this is my first time, I'm getting some great intro's to modding... A problem though is that I can't find any missions or AI's in my Bar... How can I go about Fixing this... Another question I have is, How do I change the names of the System, Bases, and Planets???

Thank you for a great experience!

Got people in the bar... found out how to add missions... Going to later... Still confused on the Names... (A Novice Here)... And I am trying to add tradelanes... I've read through the Threads, and I can't find anything that helps... I have copied a tradelane from Li01, and just moved all the co-ordinates by the exact same amount... But it doesn't work... Can anyone help me out???

Does anybody manage to add trafic ?

Post Sat Apr 05, 2003 7:05 am

CoreDump... In the system .ini files, such as Li01.ini, when you add a zone for whatever you put in, so let's say you copied Manhatten... If you also find the zone for it, and copy it, that will add the traffic you see in the system around that object. But... The traffic is only limited to that zone... Something you can expand.

If I am wrong in this, to which I belive I am right... Please let me know!
