@Wizard_phoenix: Ok, im not entirely sure, but i think that the way to make it go through jumpholes has something to do with the 'shortest_illegal_paths.ini' and 'shortest_legal_paths.ini' from DATA\UNIVERSE.

I don't think it is possible to stop it using the tradelanes, the best thing to do may be to remove the tradelanes altogether.

@Argh: No, I think that mounted weapons don't take up cargo space at all, the theory being that if they are mounted, then they are not in your cargo hold and so they aren't taking up cargo space.

@AdenX: To be honest, I don't know entirely how rooms work, although I thought I saw something in the tutorial forum about rooms.

Ok, so ammo can take up space, but not weapons. I guess that's gotta be "close enough".

Aaaaaargh! It seems that missile weapons, no matter what their true rate of fire, refuse to play the firing sound more than once per trigger pull. How lame. I guess I'm back to using good ol' energy weapons, and I don't have a way to supply them with ammunition unless I make them missiles... grumble... so I can't game-balance that way. Oh well. It's not the end of the world, it just makes things trickier.

Can anyone help?!

I have yet another question. I'm trying to populate my bar. I read up all the posts I could find from a search on this, and copied and pasted the text of some solutions even, changing the relevant bits. Still no luck. Can someone PLEASE please help!!!

First of all, i'll again like to say that this is a truly GREAT site!!! Thanks for everybody responsible and all the people posting here. Their posts have helped me a lot understanding abt fiddling [Though i'm a newbie still and thanks to Accushot, Chips, Parabolix, Psycho and others. U people are excellent ; helpin out people like me!!!

That stuff was irrelevent to modding alright, here are my questions:

1: How Can i change the background music for various places??? [eg. A linkin Park song in the manhattan Bar!!!

2 : Please show me some link to editing infocards for weapons, shields, powerplants and tractorbeams.

Hi wizard

To change the music you will need to go into your Music folder. It is (if you installed Freelancer into the default directory) "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\AUDIO\MUSIC" You will then need to find the music you want to replace. The name of the Manhattan Bar music is music_bar_li01.wav. You then just rename your song to music_bar_li01 and paste it in the folder, overwriting the previous file. Make sure the file is in wave format. You can download Wavepad here. Wavepad lets you easily change audio files into many formats.

Sigh. Some day, somebody's going to have to update the manuals referring to BINI...

Just go download FL SDK 1.3... it's all of the INIs, already decompressed... plus a bunch of bugs have been removed

I need help!! I added a lot of guns to the .cmp of a ship using HardCMP Editor. I went to the shiparch.ini and made all guns Level 10 and added all eleven guns there, like this, right??

hp_gun_special_10, HpWeapon01, HpWeapon02.....HpWeapon11

I also tried to add 2 turrets. But I went to buy the ship but it is just messed up. There were originally 6 guns, 2 turrets, 2 torpedos. Now it has 4 guns, 1 turret, 4 torpedos. I must be doing something really wrong. I'm gonna pull my hair out! Thanks!

I think you must name them HpWeapon011 instead of HpWeapon11.

Really? Hm, well then 1-9 should still show up all right, no? But only 4 guns... I'll try that tho when I get a chance.

Well I tried that and it didn't seem to help any. But I did another experiment. I edited the cargo hold of another ship and bought it, but it still wouldn't let me buy more cargo than my original hold would have held. So i'm confused

Lol... Had this kind of thing twice :
-First time : Forgot to activate the mod...
-Second time : The file I was editing had to be in DATA\FX.. It was in FX without Data.......

Check for other stupid mistakes like this... Mght be your only problem lol. (Wrong mod activated, wrong ship edited, etc...)
