Privateer: The Reckoning mod v2.0
Here you can find news, get help and comment about the Privateer / Wing Commander Total Conversion called ?Privateer: The Reckoning? and accompanying Mods
No, when I said "I don't get that file" what I meant was it doesn't show up and have never seen it yet on my system.
I realize now how it could've been misinterpreted to mean "I don't understand what that file is for." This is why I like writing stories, you never know when you come across a little thing that can lead to a huge misunderstanding. I wish I could help. Perhaps you should start an "Esquilax help me thread" in this forum to leave this thread for purely development discussions.
BTW, I've seen him give advice on this tech issue stuff in the past. As long as you don't ask him about proper English (or english) he should be a tremendous help!

I know this might sound extremely sad of me, but I'm tring to get a current working copy of this mod and I can't find a link to download it.. Can anybody help me out please? I'm a big fan of the Commander and Privateer Series and I think it would be a great feeling of nostalgia to fly some of the old ships from back in the day that in my opinion, were some of the coolest designs ever.
Okay, I found the file on my system. But I don't remember running into any of the problems it lists. But then it isn't very long. Frankly, I don't know what it for.
@Fantom, in the download section of this site is the original download. But honestly, you'd only do yourself disservice by downloading it. It was only meant to have users catch the bugs and the development team is way beyond that point now.
They are still tidying up some details and perhaps it might be nice to see another bug search mod released before the final comes out. Regardless, you're better off waiting.

Warzog, while I'm not gonna get into the XP stuff, as Esquilax et al seem to have a lot of info, I do have a link to a thread I started about Privateer in XP using DosBOX opensource proggy: Here in OffTopics
edit: I found flspew.txt here only on my PC: C:\Documents and Settings\{LOGGED IN USERNAME}\Local Settings\Application Data\Freelancer

Sir Spectre;
Re your last:
Glad you found it. I believe the file reports bugs in the game for those interested in such things. Should you call Microsoft concerning game faults
they'll probably ask you to send that file to them. (?)
Should the file not be found-or be dispersed all over the place- an installation fault might be the cause one would think especially if, for some reason, the default file structure in the OS had been changed. I do wonder if an
upgrade installation of Xp might cause the above.
Any way, it's all speculation at this time.
My -and I would think the rest of the forum members- concern right now is that
Warzog's troubles may delay the posting of the mod.

As far as the "errors" listed in FLspew.txt are concerned, 90% of them are intentionally placed there to help follow what the player was doing, and thereby help to locate where, when, and how an actual bug has ocurred.
BTW-I'm finally coming to terms with XP, barely.
Had to order a Touchpad, this mouse has made my arm very, very, sore.
And I'm still not used to this full-sized keyboard.
(I keep hitting the "\" instead of "enter."
Chemus:
Thanx!
I'm downloading it now.
Update:
Finally getting back to the mod.
However, several non-computer related, real-world events will keep me otherwise occupied for the next day or two.
Later.
