Privateer: The Reckoning MOD is ALIVE!

IIRC, Stannum was working on an Orion and Galaxy before he disappeared. You may want to ask him about that. He also said something about fixing up my Priv Dralthi and Paradigm, though I don't recall him making any promises.

Tolwyn has a Kamekh, Broadsword and Gothri, and he may have the Gladius and Stilleto - if he doesn't, Eder (another modder) certainly does, although they'll have to be reskinned. He also has a good quality Tarsus and Talon. To my knowledge, nobody's done a Salthi as of yet.

BTW, I have a program to extract the sounds from Privateer, AND some music in MP3 format. They're all pretty big, of course, so I think they should be an optional add-on instead.

And try not to yell at Tolwyn too much, he's supplying all the models

I said it before I say it again: first I'll convert all good models I have. Then, and only then, I'll go over doing other models. Although Centurion is pretty good. I'll send it to either Bob or PANI.

As for the converted ships: due to some real time issues I will be able to do materials for them only this evening and even that is not 100% sure

To date, I've only received the Broadsword. And I can't recall actually ever seeing it in Privateer.


I've definitely seen it, I just beat the game a fourth time a few months ago.

Don't forget the Retros & Militia, which seemingly are a part of pirates/confed respectively, but let me tell you they are completely different in my mind.

@Bob, is that sound extracter the one I posted a link to a month or two ago or did you find a different one?

I checked out your list...
Some of your weapon's picks were similar to mine, prior to redoing the stats.
And yes, Tolwyn is supplying the models, and Yes, I can understand his not wanting to waste good models.
However, as I stated a page, or two, back, I only learnded to mod, and only purchased FL, in order to do a Privateer MOD.
If push-come-to-shove, I'll do one just for myself, because the current mod isn't Privateer, to me.
It's like what that guy a few posts above wants...
Gundam missiles, and X-wings...
Sure, it's a mod, sure, you can slap any name on it that you want.
But!!!
It ain't Privateer!
And THAT'S the only reason I'm here...
to do the BEST FL Privateer MOD possible!
not some mish-mash that's slapped together, and called Privateer.

BTW-I'm having a power conversion problem.
In Privateer they use gw & gj.
A top of the line power unit only puts out 180gw, or 150 gj.
Every formula I use comes out with weapons drawing far to much power, and make it unplayable.

I gotta go, my medication is knocking me out.

Hmm, are you using the Wing3/4 weapon power stats or the Priv ones? Because if you use the Wing3/4 stats, you should also use the Wing3/4 power plants (look at the individual ship headers under http://www.wcnews.com/ships/wc4confed.shtml).

An example could be:

Level 0
Gun Energy 300 nJ
Default Gun Regeneration 20 nJ/s

Level 1
Gun Energy 500 nJ
Default Gun Regeneration 20 nJ/s

Level 2
Gun Energy 600 nJ
Default Gun Regeneration 22 nJ/s

Level 3
Gun Energy 680 nJ
Default Gun Regeneration 25 nJ/s

Level 4
Gun Energy 750 nJ
Default Gun Regeneration 25 nJ/s

Level 5
Gun Energy 900 nJ
Default Gun Regeneration 30 nJ/s

(As a side note, I expermented with a Gundam missile-like "Swarmer" a while back. It totally unbalanced the game so I haven't looked back since <G>

The broadsword is in priv 1 its near the Terran/kilrathi Bordr they usally fly in wings and had been worked on so it looks a bit different then the wc2 ones

warzog: you will get your models, BUT isn't it obvious that we finish one faction before moving to the next? AND: I have almost every Priv models, but most of them are simply unusable due to geometry problems, wrong texturing etc. And we won't see a ship in this mod, which is basically resembling the shape of a Priv ship with a single texture half assed attached to it saying 'I am a Priv ship'.

This was the basical problem of the original Reckoning mod.

I defrag every 2-3 weeks run spy sweeper & spy hunter noetens antivirus so I know I have no bugs
I am flyin the saber in the game the only way it dosnet stall is if I let thr bombers fly arround awile and slowley kill them

Yeah, they're gray ... er and lack side turrets.
They do have side turrets, when you see one on the scan in flight the 3 turrets are all readily distinguishable. I just don't think they ever used the side 2 turrets in a dog fight.

It was only a segestion (sorry for mis-spelling) i am probally wrong i just didn't have that happen (done it 3 more times) and still doesn't happen only thing that does happen alot is death of regular FL ships too easily

Update:
1)Got the power formula finished, and updated engines, shields, generators, and weapons.
2)Weapons rebalanced to Privateer specs.
3)Added the following ship upgrades:
-a)Shield Generators 1-7
-b)Engine Upgrades 1-5
-c)Generator Upgrades 0-7
-d)Plasteen, Tungsten, and ISOmetal Armor's
-e)2 Sensors
4)Lootprops updated (Loot from a ship blowing up)
5)Boosted power to transport's weapons-should help survivability in missions
6)Still need to redistribute the ships, and redo ship loadouts
7)Need to modify the market_misc.ini to allow purchase of new ship upgrades.
8)Need to modify some npcship.ini's to call the 2 Torpedo Bombers in.
