Well all,

Time for another update lol, weapons pack is proceeding as per plan....

A new ship has been completed....

The Tiapan - Heavy fighter: 6 guns, 2 missiles, CM, CD... rated 6/8 will be flown by Golden C - so if you are on the wrong side of them... watch your step when in kusari space.... will be very fast.

Also we hope to make AI and NPC ships faster plus add regen shields ... just to even the odds a little.

There is a good chance that not only will there be battlship encounters - you will be able to buy the Nemisis... with it you should be able to more than hold your own.. lol so long as you have deep pockets and long arms....

Cool ship. I really like the lines. Just curious, but the paint scheme looks similar to the "rainbow chickenwire" pattern used by the German air force in WW1. Is that where you got it?

Post Sat Dec 06, 2003 4:08 am

von Murrin,

No.. it is a replica of a pattern I created by 'accident' if you like in ps7.. much repeated and sized then split down the middle and mirrored..

Though I am interested in colour and would appreciate any odd shots you may have.. I prefer to create ships that are sleeker so any 'odd ball textures' are appreciated...

thanx for your response.... I appreciate it.

Harrier.

howdy.

this is one absoltley cool mod, similar what i want to do. there is a couple of things that bug me.

1. the cockpits are all reflective, with no sight of the pilot.

2. the raipier sport. its a great idea, with the flames and all, but have you thought
of flames similar to these.

jake_langley,

Thanx for the comments...

Nice flames... hmmm... I have something in mind if I can find some more similar.. can you point me to some more.. colour is cool.

A little ship called the Electra for the poor cannon fodder Xeno's, small, powerful, fast------ a surprise for those who want to get a better factional relationship... lol ... who go to Colorado and expect to find easy meat... the Xeno's have had enough .. recruiting is hard.. what with all those minerals right on their doorstep.... maybe with better training and better equipment...

The reflective cockpits .. keeps the sun out of your eyes.. lol .. yeah I can do tinted cockpits semi clear but most of those ships were done before I learned how... I will work on doing it for some of the new ships.....

Glad you like the mod.

Harrier.

1500 downloads!! alright!!

Post Mon Dec 08, 2003 3:14 am

harrier,

i got a heap of flame pics in magazines, but i havent got a scanner to put them on my pc.
if i knew how to texture, and had ps7, i could retexture it for you.
that is unless you know how to do it in corel photopaint.

i downloaded your mod, and it be trippy

one more thing, if you want some rather oddball-style ship designs, i got some in the works.
so if you want em, just ask.

jake_langley,

I have sent you an email.... thanks for your interest

Pity about the textures, I have had to make all my flames from one tiny sample that I got off the net... If you can get em to me then I would be grateful...

I have only ever used ps7 for textures.. but if corel is able to do layers then the same principle applies

Glad you like the mod.. a lot of time has gone into it... the second part is well along now..

I would like to look at your models... could you send them to me please along with whatever ideas you have for texturing them.. I will look at them and get back to you... I have quite a lot of models made and still to be done but good designs are always welcome.

Does this mod support Single Player Mode?

Which version of Mod Manager must I use? 1.12?

Does this mod support Win98, WIN2K and XP?

Post Tue Dec 09, 2003 6:13 am

Sweents,

This mod supports Single Player Mode... Open sp ver. 1.1 ... it is not designed to work with the storyline....

Flmm ver.v1.2 beta 5 and above.. tho I understand people have had problems with beta 6 and 7.. if you have problems with the later versions then I suggest you use beta 5...

Does this mod support Win98, WIN2K and XP?... I use WinXP Pro and have had no problems ... can't speak for earlier versions though I should think they would be ok.....

Whean all else fails... I suggest you read the installation instructions in the readme.txt included with the mod...

i have one mod if you want it

Post Wed Dec 10, 2003 5:51 am

Harrier,

I found a visual of the camo I was talking about. It's properly called a "lozenge pattern" after the shape of the individual blocks of color. The idea, aside from the basic goal of all camouflage (outline breakup) is that it confuses the eye.

If you want to try it, take several dominant colors from a system, offset them a fair bit, and model the "lozenge" pattern with them. The effect being that the ship will visually "disappear" to an extent at range. The effect won't work so well in other systems with different dominant colors, naturally.

Here's several renders of it on an aircraft. This guy really did his homework:

harrier,

this is one of my designs. anyone can use it, just as long as i get credit for it, and the name doesnt change.

ZX 17 Sketch

this baby's name is the ZX 17 <insert your name here>

the ZX 17 part is important.

sorry to be possesive, but this one was my first (and maybe one of the worse)
designs. so it has sentmental value.
