I know it shouldn't work but it does. Instead of using the last instance of projectile_archetype FL seems to use them all, one by one. At least it worked for me!

Try making the missile ammo stats very different, for example giving one a max speed and aceleration of twice the other one and you should see them split into several rockets.

If you still don't believe me then you could always create several hardpoints for the missile launchers very close together, perhaps on something that looks like a missile battery, and then they would all fire together.

hmm, sry guys, it didn't work, tried both versions.
I experimented a lot with different guns, i simply took the ammo of 2 missiles I made (each of them works fine if used alone).

when I use
projectile_archetype = ammo1, ammo2
FL crashes,
when I use
projectile_archetype = ammo1
projectile_archetype = ammo2
it only uses the 2nd one (I took 2 very different looking missiles so I would have noticed it...)

sry, can hardly believe you, although i'd love to make these guns...
accushot, can u send a working example to [email protected] ?
although i am still confused about the logic in this i want to see it

errmm....yes im not the greatest modder (probably the worst) and havn't been able to get it working yet....ill keep trying but if anyone could send me the gunboat and liberty dreadnought files all ready to go that would be awesome....any tips on chips orginal plan guys?

yeah - check that you have closing brackets, check that you have YOUR nicknames correct, check that is says [GOOD in the goods.ini not loadout or something, check the weapons you have mounted on it to buy (you can remove them easily enough), check you got camera angles and stuff, that cockpit points towards your cockpit directory. Check also again that ids numbers are right, and that you have it to sell at the right base for it. I would send you mine but i am making a huge mod for someone so you would get a different game almost ^-^.
Basically - check, check, double check.......then when you are sure, check again. Delete old save games and autosave and whatnot just incase (but this means that SP will start all over again!)

I have a question, but im too lazy to look through the entire thread to see if it was asked before.

Where is the mod so I can start out with a lot of cash?

Also, is it possible to use mods and NOT lose your progress from before? My entire times worth of saves are not showing up when I run Freelancer through the mod.

FLMM v1.2 moves saved games in and out as too which of the mods you load... so you in effect 'lose' your saved positions when loading a different mod! You should be able to get round it by going to your save games folder and moving files from one folder to another - but you will crash if there is a difference betweent them (ie - one has a ship that the other doesn't, you are starting in a system that doesn't exist) i suggest that you use something like the remove storyline mod to sort out getting rid of the storyline for every mod you load.

Okay - this is too start with alot of cash instead.
If you are in the starflier (gf1) then open up the goods.ini and scroll down till you find the following entry:

category = shiphull
ship = ge_fighter

ONe is for the ship with mission 1a (juni gives it too you). Now see the price - change this to 9000000 (9mil) and you should be able to sell your ship for about 7mil - easy money! Save and enjoy the cash (change both to be sure you get lots of dosh) You can change other money by doing the same for other ships hulls that you are flying, but if you ever try to buy that ship again - it will cost 9mil!

What are you using to open the ini files. The best and easiest one i have found is BiniQDU - where you open it to reveal a screen. You can then select directories and choose your file of choice. It is simple, and easy to navigate with. The other ones i don't know about (never used em) but i am sure you can't get much easier than that!
I can't find BiniQDU in downloads - but this one sounds like it does about the same thing (ie - double click on its icon and it opens up and window to work in. From there you navigate to your file and start changing!)

If you're using BINI then, in Windows Explorer, just drag the .ini file onto the BINI icon. A new file will be created called <FILE>.ini.txt. Delete the original file and remove the .txt from the end of the new file, which is now unencrypted.

I would send you the files but Ive had to reinstall FL twice through excess modding so I havent still got the changes.

Good idea chips, but you can also edit the mission:

Open DATA/MISSIONS/M01A/m01a.ini and search for this line:

Act_ActTrig = keep_king_alive

Underneath it add:

Act_AdjAcct = 9000000

Save and begin a new game, and you will get $9mil as soon as the level begins.

I have some questions.

1. i have tried and tried to make my own base but i cant get it to work. Any ideas. also i used your tutorial to make the base and i did everything u told me to do. and when i start the game the base is not there.

2. wat do i do. i decrypt the file using bini and i comes out as a .txt. E.g. UNIVERSE becomes UNIVERSE.txt.. but you said that it would become UNIVERSE.ini.txt. it doesnt.

Any help would be helpful =-)

That doesn't matter - just as long as you save it as universe.ini instead!!
(converted to a text file to read it - as long as you save as an ini file its okay)
Bout the base - it should work. usual reason is that you didn't add it to the universe.ini file to declare it. Even if you did - make sure it is still there (every now and then when you save it seems not too want too! Many times i have crashed due to this prob - i remove something - the damned thing doesn't save the changes i made so i crash when loading). Seriously - check the universe.ini file for your entry - accushots base is one of the first things i made!! Oh crap - i just remembered. he got the position a little off - its IN manhatten. Change the position line of your base to something different.. put it somewhere like -25000, 0 , -30000........that should bring it out and move it towards the sun a little...) if it is still sticking out of the planet - then make it -25000, 0, -28000 - you should see it somewhere in between the two tradelanes looking towards the sun. Click on your objects icon and you will see 2 newarks ( think that was the template used). It IS there - just that it is inside manhat right now!

Accushot - now i have a question......lol
I have made all the capships flyable, and had to change the old cockpit cam amounts lots of times, as well as the turret values (template of the corsairs titan is used for that....) so i know which values to change to get a nice camera view - and believe me i get it right........but
With both the bretonian gunboat and destroyer i get either a) underneath with the gunboat view, or b) still inside the ship model with destroyer. That is for both cockpit cams. Turret cams are perfectly set - JUST the cockpit cams. Now i have changed the values to something stupid like 250, 800 and still NOT MOVING even an inch!! Do you know of any bug with these two that causes this? (ie to make rheinland battleship leave a planet you have to move the HpMount positiion from -500 to about -100) - anything like that? Or is it just a bug that sucks on my comp (ie re-do the whole thing......again. Only probs is that i have done the gunship several times now - and still get the same crap viewpoint. Give it a go and see for yourself. Am asking cos i am making a very very large mod for the TE - and this is my only hang back right now!

1. does anyone have any tips on creating ther own stealth mod (perhaps a Tutorial)

2. do u know how to make an object minable from the debris fields

any help would be great thanx =-)
