You got collision groups and simple for it in shiparch.ini??

Etc? Also - you got a sur file for your ship as well?

Ok, here's a question, how do you make a server so mods are allowed? & 2. how do you make a different amount of money to start for every player in your server?

uhhh, I never edit a game, so don't laugh at me..but how do you change the amount of money you start off with in Multiplayer, some guy said before that nearly everyone knows, so how do you?

Heya, im new to this game and am not really sure if my question is on the topic but can anyone tell me if there is a mod to make NPC ships pilotable? (e.g. GUNBOAT, junker CSV, large train etc.) Or you could even tell me how i could do it myself...but i suck so a pre-made mod would be better. If you have ANY info on this could you please email me ASAP at [email protected] as i probably will not check this forum regulary

Can somone plz make me the script for a Battleship in the Badlands when you end the trade lane to Ithaca. Could it also have the Hammerhead, All weapons and equipment up to class 9 and al the most valueable commodities? This would be greatly appreciated since I cannot do ne of this to save my life!

eVolution, to change starting money in MP you have to edit DATA\CHARACTERS\newcharacter.ini

Sgt funky - you need to download a mod with battleships and gunships? Pilotable...hehe - download the FLMM v1.2 - it comes with a gunship and capital ship encounters. Also try the downloads section - and select the list by type - look for mods/general/ships.
As for creating them yourself - it takes alot of time and hardly ever comes out right - best to have some experience for that

@ evolution.
OKay - to make a server where poeple can mod? Just don't have the patch or anything else! Keep the barebones of the server running for everyone to be able to mod like crazy. However - beware. Some people take the piss on those severs and so it will crash one heck of alot as they overdo it (ping will be skyhigh).
Otherwise - install your own versions of mods on the server, and leave something in the downloads section for everyone else to download. Only problem is that starting a new server is hard - just by the fact that its hard to get noticed that is! Good luck with it.
For the battleship at Ithaca - you mean you want a station there for you to use? which then sells the hammerhead?
Will give it a go. Basically you just need to add a station (osiris or something similar) to the li01.ini at the bottom. Copy and paste rooms from another battleship, then edit the rooms names to have the name of your station (as in li01_13_bar.ini etc. Now change your marketships.ini to include this station and to be able to sell the hammerhead. Then edit what stations selll what were (weapons etc) and finally add it to the universe.ini as well. It is a bit of work - but if i get much spare time - i will have a crack for you.

@evolution - sorry - only just bothered to have a look at making the osiris dockable and where you want it. Aint anywhere near as difficult as i made out i thinK!!!!!hehe
Just gonna try it out - will get back to you as soon as i have given it a go!

@evolution - done your osiris for you- its near ithaca research station - sells the ol hammerhead, and has basically got cosair guns for sale to kit it out with (you can buy them whatever the animosity towards you (navy)). Apart from that it was simple - as the osiris is already registered as a base in the universe.ini, has its rooms etc already done, all i had to do was find out the ids no.s and then put an entry for it in LI01.ini (NY sys). Now you can check out the scripting for it if you wish - anyone else interested - then i will post the scripting here. Gonna email it too you - but post replies and probs here as i don't use this email addy too much (lots of junk mail).

if so can you use ship mods in sp? if so can you tell me how to install em'? after i downloaded em of course. thx anyway

wow. This is a looooong thread. If this has been answered, just let me know and I'll go looking through all 15 pages. Other wise, can you tell me everything I need to know to make my dreamship with custom stats, and textures and put it in the game at any base that at present only sells one ship without displacing anything? I know this is a tall order, but if there were a sticky thread that told how to do this well, it would be greatly apreciated by myself and many others like me, and the site would be all the better for it.

dev_2 the answer is yes, you can use mods in sp. To use them, download Freelancer Mod Manager (check the download page). Be warned, though, that sometimes mods makes your life harder if not impossible in sp... for example some mods raise all prices without changing the income of the various missions, so it's very hard to accomplish some missions (you just can't buy the proper equipment)... just try... oh, be warned! I noticed that if you run a mod in sp, and later disable it, you LOSE EVERY SAVED GAME! I don't know if this can be avoided...
