Russian factions wont break US law, as long as they arn't the Coalition.

*updated* Ok, now we need a lady, and we STILL need some bad guys. What about Rheinland saboteurs that are trying to ruin liberty's chance? (we've sent out 4 colony ships, one from each house. Unbeknownst to the houses, a fifth has been sent out by the border worlds (of course )).

How about coalition colonys are found in this new sector (obviously we wont call them the coalition, but just have different faction names for the Russians, Chinese, Arabs etc). These guys dont wont the alliance ships colonising their sector, and so the epic struggle of domination between the alliance and coalition begins again. Just with different names


Reminds me of a news report I found in the Stuttgart system a couple of months ago about a pirate named "Steiner". A decendant of the good Klaus Steiner perhaps?

I think I should keep track of how many law suits may be filed against us...

any way, we can't do the alliance coalition thing at the same level MS did. We would need to mix up the sides or add a third faction...

For instance: America (North America), Russia, England, Austrailia, and some of Europe fight the rest of Europe, China, Japan, Korea, and some Arab Nations. Then add some groupe that was back in Sol before it was destroied (Martians, Outer Solar System people ect.) This way we cant be filed for a law suit.

Dude, if we say that the russians and the others made colony ships and came to earth, even if they are the exact same countries that form the coalition, they can't sue us if we don't mention them directly.

And for the love of god, MS doesn't care THAT much about us. You ARE aware how much a lawsuit costs them, aren't you?

Exactly, people only sue when they know they'll get money out of it. And we probably wouldnt even be worth a cautionary e-mail >.<

because we are opensource and free. Which means we can afford to take a few liberties. Trust me, they wouldn't sue us over us borrowing their storyline a little, espiecally if its only as a backdrop. Its the blatent rip-off's that get it.

what about the main plot being more localized...
say around a single planet..whether its rich in resources or a key planet in a system
the hero has to try and save the planet..
of course we will also have him running all over the universe for various reasons..
that way he might be on the side of one small faction and the rest of the universe against him. have the different houses fighting for the planet for diferent reasons
might make the player feel more "needed" than fighting for humanity, since their already is 100 billion humans who could be fighting instead

Or he could simply be trying to save himself , and find out why everyone is hunting him down...
