Sun can blow up............

Slight strange problem here, I'm making a mod that creates a torpedo that is 30000K's fast and has a dammage rate of 500K for admins on the server Im seting up. However, for some reason, when you fire it, the systems sun dissapears, you can target it, and light is coming out of no-where........... you ca fly through the light with no probs.

i've messed w/ a mod about a week ago that fired fast flying lot o' damage torpedos and had a simlar problem w/ the sun sep it started blinking like a little x mas light.

The future isn't what it used to be....

Hi!

I'm sorry that I cannot help you with your problem, but I think this is awesome. Normally suns are invulnerable objects, put in the system and you cannot blow them up.

So one question: Is this a new system you created, or did you change anything in this system or for suns in general? Because, if you made suns as destroyable objects then it is obvious that they blow up, when hit by this ultra-torpedo.
However, if it is just a normal sun, your torpedo would be a great new weapon, a sunkiller thingy somehow

If you can destroy a star, where is the massive shock wave that should destroy you and the rest of your system? eh?
I think you're missing some dll stuff there. Ohhhhhhh, what a blast ! Anybody got a light?

It doesnt matter where you shoot it, it still makes the sun dissapear, you can shoot it in the oposite direction from 700K away, and the sun still goes, poof!

I think stars have health. It may be that the torpedo repeats around system and hits the star. The only soultion i suggest is to find the star profile and edit hit points to somet like 1 trillion, but i don't know if has hitpoints.

I think thats possible isnt it? If you edit the explosion to a custom one and increase strength and radius etc. But, I think it would only kill shields instantly, you'd need a workaround for the solar to kill in 1 explosion.

Besides for the sun to come back you'd need a restart of the server, plus players would most likely abuse it... imagine 30 players in new berlin and its sun goes up, the player would instantly get all those kills lol, or, just a nasty admin heh.

But if it was made into a weapon the range could be made high so that escape would be possible, you could cruise off to a gate and escape before it blew hehe.
