Inspiron 1000 issues-please help

I just won freelancer over the internet the other day and I tried to play it on my Dell Inspiron laptop. The demo played fine, but I cant even get the full game to start on my laptop. I talked to another guy here at school and he said he had had the same problem. I am running XP and was wondering if anyone could help.

2.2 ghz, 224 mb ram, 32 mb vid ram, the graphics card is a SiS M650. Hope you can help

You really need more of each, 512 ram and min 64 mb Video ram,
Have you tried changing the graphic settings in the game to lower ones?

Edit - Note, by your ram numbers, your running intergrated ram, which means your standard ram is also handleling the graphics. It makes it a lot harder to run a game that way.

I know that, but the demo ran fine. Also, the game won't even open to let me change the graphics settings

Try deleteing the game, then go to your c: drive or what ever your hard drive is, and delete teh freelancer folder, then reinstall. Nothing left to corupt things and try again.

Hi, in responce to your problem, I am a PC tech at an Audiotronic outlet and have dealt with this prob before. You can play, { but better video would have been nice}, first lower your video refresh rate { to lighten load on GPU}, to 65 or 70 Mhz , bring your color settings down to 16bit again free up GPU and ease up on VRAM, and then right click on your freelancer shortcut , choose Properties and then choose Compatibility, Enable Compatibility mode for Win98/me.
then try game goodluck
