Patches - Which ones to get?

Hello all,

I just picked up (finally) a copy of Freelancer. Glee! Now I want to patch up the game, the first thing I try to do any time I buy an oldish game. But I see I have several options...

OFFICIAL patches seem to go up to 1.1, and that's clear enough. But I also see the UNOFFICIAL patch 1.4, made by Buck Danny. That's... not so clear, if only because even the full readme doesn't really tell me all that it does.

As a total newbie, who doesn't wish to mod the game in any real way, (but one that enjoys bug and feature fixes!) what patches should I get? It's entirely possible that I have overlooked some. Perhaps more importantly, is there any particular ORDER I should install the patches? For instance, if the unofficial patch is in fact recommended, should I first install the 1.1 official patch? Or are they all standalone, and previous patches are unnecessary?

Basically, any recommendations would be very helpful. Thanks!

The 1.1 Patch is really server side. You don't need to use it. I don't use it myself.

The Unofficial patch by Buck Danny fixes allot of things that he found in the files.
I would use the Unofficial patch that Buck Danny made but that's just my opinion.

Cool, fair enough. Thanks for your help, I'll stick with the unofficial patch!

Use the new Freelancer S.D.K. 1.5

HAck, only the patch is available, a "Crack " is illegal and not allowed for discussion here. We support the buying of the disks, inhopes it influences MS to make FL2 one day.

You can use the crack for legal purposes eg saving time by not making the comp read from the cd drive

Appollo, The crack and discussions of its use are not allowed. A "Crack" is illegal, period. Buy the disk, and use thge disk, simple.
