P.S. The mod is only one huge system with the 8 planets lined up in a LINE!!! (Don't know why nobody thought of that before...)

This thread makes me laugh. Why do you ask?
The thread began with Chips and Argh dishing out some very, very sound advice on how to get the attention you need to get help with any projects you are doing. However, what seems to have happened is that the thread has since become people looking at the title 'Want to make a Mod? Want a Mod Team?' and instead of people actually reading what has been written, they seem to have gone, 'oh yes, that's me,' and thrown up their help wanted posts into this thread.
Whats even funnier is half of the posts blatantly haven't read the very first two posts by Chips and Argh. Do you know how many post requests for help on this thread have been answered on this thread with people going, 'yes, I will help with that?' (I can't testify for those who may have had responses via Email / MsN but I can give a good guess that the number is very, very simalar). The answer is simply None. The best that has come out of the thread is where one or two people have been pointed in the direction of simalar mods that have already been built, or been told that what they are looking to do can not be done in the Freelancer engine.
As Argh and Chips covered in their first posts, getting the attention of those who are 'experts' or even know enough to possibly assist, is a difficult one. You see, there is two types of people here:
Those who have an idea.
Those who have an idea and know (or are willing to learn) how to implement it.
Please note, there is basically just these two types of people. There is no third type that is 'Know (or are willing to learn) how to implement ideas.' Whats the difference between this imaginary third type and the second type above? The imaginary third type would be a person who knows how to do this stuff, but is waiting for others to give them an idea of what to do. Simply and bluntly put, those type of people do NOT exist. This means the first type, the 'Those who have an idea,' have three choices. They can either sit around and wait for the imaginary third type to come into existance (which is very unlikely to happen), become the second type of person, or leave it.
To be honest, we would rather see people become the second type, however, if they are just going to leave it, or try and sit around waiting for the imaginary third type to exist, then they are showing to the world that they are not Mod (nor even Games as a whole) Designer material. Have a good think about this before you make a post, and ask yourself, do I have what it takes that should the crunch come to it, I could do everything I want to do in this mod without help (or at least help from others directly doing the coding, modelling, texturing etc....). If the answer is no, then your chances of building a mod team is slim. Like Argh above, I too like to see new mods and what people do with them, but advertisements like these just leave us all thinking it's vapourware (i.e. something someone dreams up, but will never actually complete and release). Listen to the mighty Argh and Chips on this, please, I urge you.
But one final bit of advice that I will leave you with that wasn't covered by Chips or Argh's posts. If you want people to notice your adverts for assistance, do NOT post them here. Here's why:
When Chips and Argh made these posts, most of the serious mod developers here on Lancers looked at it, nodded and went, 'finally, someone talking sense in the Help Wanted forum.' They then didn't return to this thread, or very rarely came back to it. Many of us check these forums by clicking on 'Active Topics' at the top. We ignore then the stickies, as they always show and mostly pertain to things that we know well already 'Do NOT discuss Cloaking,' 'Rules of this Forum' etc.... and feel we have no need to go back to unless to recheck something, even if new posts come up in it. The only time people generally will notice a new post in the Help Wanted section is when it is made as a fresh new post, rather than a reply to a thread that tells you how to improve your chances to getting the help you want and then half the posters have gone and ignored.
I will now sit back and watch how many people completely ignore this post and the first two in this thread and continue to make half hearted requests in this thread.

Hello i need someone that can make new factions (with ship loadouts) and someone that can tell me how to add random missions on bases For My Columbus Mod V3
just send a mail to [email protected]

i really want to make a mod and i have some ideas, but i don't know how to code and update info cards, but here come some of my ideas:
i really enjoyed to play some balanced modes (the ones where you can beat a Valkyrie with a startracker, an upgrade armor, power plants, scanners an tractor beams)
so every ship and weapon has some unique stats according to class and capital(like pirate ships having , more cargo, more power, less armor, Kusari having more maneuverability, less cargo, less armor, and so )
more details if someone become interested
but i really don't like the idea of adding new ships (almost all the time, kick ass ships with enormous advantages over the normal ones, or poorly textured ships)
i want to do a balanced mode an to add some original ships that do not appear at the game (or singleplayer)like the starblazer, blood dragon, anubis, a playable and not sucky CSV (i suggest 2 turrets 4 weapons and classify as a freighter or heavy fighter )
correct some hardpoints (like the turret of bloodhound to work as a 360º turret - this i can make! and already made)
i want to enable a "choose faction" at the star
some ideas, any interest?

I go away from this for a little while and even more prove me right. There is no helping people. Those of you have posted here in the last couple of posts, please go back and read the original post by Chips, the response by Argh and then the response by myself on page 2 (the longest one). These are all good tips that were written by experienced modders looking to help you get the help you want by sharing some of their knowledge with you on the best way to get yourself across.
