Starlancer Ships

Has anyone made a mod that lets you use the ships from starlancer, specificly the Wolverine, Patriot, Pheonix, or Shroud. I tried using the recently released models but im having trouble with the hardpoints and its making go insane, when i fix the problems wiht the internal hp mounts i screw up the outer ones its so frustrating.

I am currently working on a three part release of the starlancer models recently proveded so graciously by Hobbes.
The First part will be a vanilla "modders" ship pack with simple scripts ready to be modded and used by any mod maker.
The Second part will be a full blown "players" ship pack with all specifics laid out and ready to be installed by any player.
The Last part of the release will be a complete addon pack for Evolutions 1.28, of course that's assuming Chips gives it his blessing.

Also I would like to note that these ships will come with a few extra features. The CMP's will all have 3 shield HP's, 5 miscellaneous HP's, 3 Thruster HP's, and an abunbdance of gun turret and torpedo HP's This should make them all very modder friendly as they will have room for just about anything you want to set them up with. Oh and they will come with a handy graphic HP chart which will display where the HP's are located so there is no need to guess.

Anyway look for them later in the week.

i am really happy that someone is getting some really good use outa that ship pack i released. Great work. I look forward to seeing these ships in a mod or 2.

Chips has no problem with addons to the mod.

I was hoping that you would take the time and fill out the cockpits and adjust the scale so that they fit in with the FL universe. I do recognize the difficulty involved in doing so however so I'm not really expecting it.

I look forward to seeing the addon .

Yeah I really debated redoing the cockpits but after much consideration decided against it. The reason is primarily that the starlancer ships are of several different scales. and while on the small fighters it might look cool on the bigger ships esp the phoenix the cockpit would be so small I didn't feel it would be worth the effort. Also I have the ships in the game and they look pretty darn good. Eh guess it could partly be that I never much cared whether a ship had a see through cocpit or not. :-)

Anyway I will be scaling them to the freelancer universe using their cocpit windows as a reference for scale. The Phoenix and Wolverine are quite large as fighters go but they look great in the game.

i would like to include all of the ships in my mod !!
as there will be new alliances of sirius fighting against the order and nomads, some big wars .. could make good use of unique and good looking ships anytime -- i was trying out the predator and it looked fine ..

a question to hobbes78:
will you convert the coalition ships as well?

and one to crymson:
once hobbes gives us the cap ships (i read from him) will you hardpoint them as well?

changing my mod all time, so trying to get to know if i should keep it this way: ideas growing and growing ..
what i do .. i do good
and i`m thinking about adding all alliance + coalition ships and make proper factions and even systems for them ..


i broke up with a stupid modders group some time ago (because they suck and i did 90% of work anyways), but also dropped the big alien appearance (had planned ~40 new systems) of the reason i`m too lazy without support

so might make it a big starlancer appearance instead ..

EDIT: oh yea .. it`s just a sample, i`m now working on the mod for quite a long time and made lot of changes .. but i won`t tell much cause it`s too early, thinking bout release in few months maybe ..

Yeah when Hobbes releases the cap ships and with any luck the coalition ships too I will be happy to hardpoint and convert em.

Funny thing is just before Hobbes released the first batch i had just spent several days unsuccessfully looking for a working converter to convert .shp's to 3dsmax. So as you can imagine I was a very happy camper when Hobbes made them available.

Yes i do plan on converting the Coalition ships, as well i plan on a full capship package. these will be easy to do.

the hard one that i plan on is the base package. these will be dockable bases of all of the Starlancer bases i can get outa the game. this one will be time consuming, and without proper .SUR files will be very interesting indeed to see them in game.

Hey all I know I had promised to have the SL ship pack out late this week. Well it's late in the week but due to an unfortuante HD failure my home system has been down a couple days now and I could get nothing done. Luckily it was my primary drive that failed and my secondary(where all my work is stored) is still running like a champ.

Anyway I will hopefully have the SL ship pack completed and uploaded over the weekend.

Excellent, I can't wait until the vanilla version comes out. I am building a ship pack at the moment with one of my friends (has about 11 new ships in it), and afterwards I was going to embark on a new full-blown mod for freelancer, where the coalition makes a reappearance as a new faction with multiple new ships and 3-4 new coalition systems. I hope to take the older starlancer models and update them a bit, and give them a newer look while maintaining the a bit of old. I still need to finish this ship pack first which will take a bit, but decided I would drop by and show my appreciation for the new models, and the fact you plan to release a version for other moders to use.
