to fix the galaxy, tarsus and orion looking for a texture 0 try adding in the .mat file a copy of a texture renamed as texture 0. might take some trial and error to figure out which texture its looking for, but once thats done it probably is the same for all three ships. im starting to work on the vaktoth now and i think there is a way to tweak the weapon_equip.ini on missile weapons to fix the talons missile woes. ill checj bakc in a few

warzog, to fix the talon not firing, in the weapon_equip.ini go to the munition reference for all missiles used in the mod and change the line force_gun_ori=false to
force_gun_ori=true

that makes the launchers fire, even if they dont have a prayer of hitting the target straight on, but since the weaps fire guided munitions, thats not a problem.

ok, i also think that part of the problem is that the AI launches mines before missiles, so either fix that in the basic AI or remove the mine layer from the talon

the missile reluctance might also have to do with the fact that they only have two missiles, they might be more liberal with their guns if given more

ok, i think ive fixed the vaktoth, its on its way now warzog, if your waiting on me to send out the next version of the mod dont, im not good with textures, never have been

@du7 the stiletto skin in the purchase window is FUBAR but when you actually buy it and fly it the skin looks like what the stileeto originally looked like, but with a little more color thrown in

warzog, texture errors may have to do with the [simple and [collision group references in shiparch that look for a completely different texture, but if it was that id expect the problem to be in all ships so im not really sure

Chemus:
I installed them, and they worked.
I found some bugs, and fixed them.
A few missions later, I got the DiretX error and crashed.
That is usually caused by corrupt files.
The only new files were the ones I got from you.
I've temporarily removed them, and running through the missions, again, to see if there's another reason for the DirectX error/crash.
If there is, it's not your files.
If there isn't, it is.
I'll let you know the outcome.

You probably have a corrupt file, and need to download it again.

Trent and Juni's speach are tied together in an animation, and would be hard to edit it out.
(at least it would be for me.)

I've fixed the Kilrathi flying the Banshees for v2.5.
Haven't gotten around to messing with the names, yet.
(I'm still bug-hunting.)

Resale of ship's weapons and equipment is predetermined by FL.
And as far as I can tell, there's 2 choices:
1) Full price-if the base doesn't sell them.
2) Pittance-if the base does sell them.

I've fixed (I hope) the wood, liquor, plaything, and appliances, in the asteroids.
FL has quite a few minable commodites, and Privateer had more consumables.
(So, I made some of the minable commodities, consumables.)

The Gothri, and Stiletto, could use retexturing, any volunteers?

just realized this now, shouldnt the colors on the laser and the photon cannon be switched? lasers were red and photons were yellow, or so i thought. i might just be hallucenating massively

What were missing are Retros. Seems those would be easy to add.
Who does EVERYBODY hate in FL???? Xenos.

They're almost the same I don't remember if Xenos hate technology and not just other people, though.

Btw I miss how in Privateer other people (and not just cops / law enforcement scanning you for contraband) will hail you of their own free will and respond to your taunts. Many times I got killed in Privateer while trading insults with a wing of retros Heck sometimes in a bad mood they even got me mad whereas if they'd kept quiet I'd have left them alone while they tangled with the cops.

I'm still crashing in the same spot, but not for the DirectX error.
It has me stumped.

I tried the missile "fix."
Shot missiles straight up...
and they headed for the target...
who flew under me...
and my own missile blew me away!
(Works on every ship!)

I'll check into the colors.

Yeah, the Xenos=Retros.

Trucidation:
Xenos hate people.
Retros hate technology.

I'm not sure if I can add random hails.


Update:
I've got a nasty bug that causes you to crash when you launch at the start of mission 7.

Warzog : mission 7 .. isnt that the one where you leave Prague ? if so i recall Micheal Dan from rebalance saying he kept having a problem with that and suggested folks use an original FL ships .. if its not that one then never mind this post , if it is try with a ship that has the original fl name , ie the li_elite which ever ship that is in P:TR

BOH_Havoc: I will find a download manager and get to those priv ship packs sometime later. Check Tolwyns server for the textures I have been working on.

edit: Just finished another Galaxy texture.

I am working on something for New Constantinople right now. This base is a saucer shape, which means my textures will be applied with a radial UV projection... Making textures that are originally square and applying them to fit a circular shape is always a little challenging-- especially if one doesnt have the model or the programs to play with the model!

I can also work on something for the Gothri and Stiletto.

These textures are made without having the models to work with. I give any modeller here permission to edit them: crop, cut, paste, do what you need to stick the textures on the models correctly.

Speaking of Perry: I just applied the textures and ... well, you'll see:

Personally I think it came out pretty good - I'd stretch the 05 PERRY text down so it's the same height as the blue things. The texture also comes across as a bit too prim and clean, I'm not sure if it would be disconcerting or not. Going to test it shortly.

The background texture you used actually is pretty good, when applied it gives the effect of many little white dots which resemble windows. The only problem is dividing what has windows and what doesn;'t.

Going to catch some Zzzs, two in the morning.

Perry looks pretty It looks kinda lifeless though... but I suppose that's cause it's just sitting there without space in the background.

Na, don't worry about random hails. Btw when anyone in Freelancer hails you, they want something It's either law enforcement types checking for contraband, or pirates telling you to dump your cargo. Hm... for pirates you also get a little popup right? Get to choose whether to comply or not.

Btw some people can do mission 7 in any custom ships, no problems. Dunno why other people can't. These random errors are annoying Might want to ask what kinda setup people have.

i did this in a decked out banshee , didnt have a crash at all , im thinking like you are that it might be peoples setup , because i mean i never even crashed when i used to play the rebalance

just got an idea , anyone used the priv. ship seperate DL ships for the base game rather then the full beta and had these crashes with mission 7 ?

i may try it and have a look ..
