We are getting closer every day to release time so we decided it'd be a good idea to post information about some ships here. Note that in our mod missiles will no longer be mountable on gun mounts, but instead, on mounts that will now be universal for all missiles, torpedos, and cruise disruptors, sorry if this is kind of a killjoy, but we have certain reasoning behind it and figured it would be the best way to achieve our goal. Hope you like it
Shrike - The Shrike is a medium fighter that is flown by the Outcasts and Liberty Rogues. The Shrike is a very powerful fighter and is capable of easily defeating most ships if behind a good pilot, it is also a good freighter for a fighter. These strengths make the ship very expensive. It was found in a system close to Liberty by Outcast pilots, who were assisted in bringing it home by Liberty Rogues, thus the "bounty" was split.
The Shrike's stats are as follows:
Class: Medium Fighter
Armor: 6800
Guns: 4
Missiles: 1
Turrets: 1
Nano/Batt: 50
Cargo: 65
Level: 6/8
Handling Model: Falcon +
Spider - The Spider is a light fighter that is like a Nomad fighter in the sense that it is very heavily armored for a fast ship. It was originally an alien ship but was found by Bretonians and was converted and revamped into the what they saw as the perfect light fighter. It is flown by the Junkers, who found the ship.
The Spider's stats are as follows:
Class: Light Fighter
Armor: 6200
Guns: 4
Missiles: 2
Turrets: 0
Nano/Batt: 45
Cargo: 50
Level: 5/7
Handling Model: Legionnaire
Note, we have included a special version of the Spider that is only flown by aliens. It has no missile mounts but it has all class 10 gun mounts and the pilots are very skilled. The ship cannot be found anywhere in the game except while battling them.
Rapier Sport - The Rapier Sport is the first addition to the Bretonia Invincibles, who are the elite pilots of the Bretonian Government. It has a very unique, to say the least, retro 70's look and certainly packs a punch. It is classified as a medium fighter, but the only thing "medium" about it is it's speed. It is considered the "Peacekeeper" in Bretonia.
The Rapier Sport's stats are as follows:
Class: Medium Fighter
Armor: 5400
Guns: 6
Missiles: 2
Turrets: 1
Nano/Batt: 45
Cargo: 40
Level: 6/8
Handling Model: Banshee
Rapier Escort - The Escort Model of the Rapier, or Rapier ES, is not as powerful as it's counterpart ship the Rapier Sport, but it is slightly faster and can carry more cargo, for those long escort runs. It was modified for Bowex as they were lacking the power resources for their dangerous treks through the borderworlds.
The Rapier Escort's stats are as follows:
Class: Medium Fighter
Armor: 4900
Guns: 4
Missiles: 2
Turrets: 1
Nano/Batt: 35
Cargo: 50
Level: 4/6
Handling Model: Banshee +
Gryffin - Dissapointed at the reliability of the Defender and desperately yearning for an upgrade in fighters, the Liberty Navy decided it was time to go back to the drawing boards and create a new fighter. The Gryffin was the final product. While the production was hurried along, the outcome proved spectacular. With it's shiny gold paint job and sleek shape, it creates a face of danger that criminals cower in.
The Gryffin's stats are as follows:
Class: Heavy Interceptor
Armor: 4300
Guns: 4
Missiles: 1
Turrets: 1
Nano/Batt: 35
Cargo: 35
Level: 5/7
Handling Model: Patriot
Ceres - In a world of danger and when any mistake could cause the loss of lives, Samura was feeling desperate as they were losing more and more freighters and transports to pirates every day. This feeling of desperation led Samura to create a new line of ships for their dangerous escapades through various systems. The Ceres was the first ship in the line and is a freighter. It has a bigger cargo hold than any freighter seen in Sirius, but sacrifices speed.
The Ceres's stats are as follows:
Class: Freighter
Armor: 10200
Guns: 2
Missiles: 0
Turrets: 4
Nano/Batt: 65
Cargo: 600
Level: 5/6
Handling Model: Rhino
Spectre: As the name implies it is a very fast and low profile ship. It is a ship that was designed by scientists from Cambridge and Kansai for use for Interspace Commerce as IC had no ship that had the power to take on any of the pirates that they often encountered during traderuns.
The Spectre's stats are as follows:
Class: Light Fighter
Armor: 3500
Guns: 4
Missiles: 1
Turrets: 1
Nano/Batt: 28
Cargo: 30
Level: 4/6
Handling Model: Starflier
Nightstalker - The child of the very successful Spectre. The Nightstalker carries the same premise of the Spectre in that it is very low profile. The Nightstalker is much stronger than the Spectre though, but of course sacrifices speed and maneuverability. This balance between the Nightstalker and Spectre causes many of both ships to be seen in space.
The Nightstalker's stats are as follows:
Class: Heavy Fighter
Armor: 7000
Guns: 6
Missiles: 1
Turrets: 1
Nano/Batt: 54
Cargo: 50
Level: 6/8
Handling Model: Falcon
Gorgon - Not the prettiest ship in the bunch. But then again, it's not supposed to be. It is shaped like a large claw, but looks is not the only thing it has in common with a claw. It is very mean. It is a new heavy fighter flown by ALG Waste Disposal of Rheinland. It gives a much needed surge of power to ALG in a time with rising criminal activity in all systems.
The Gorgon's stats are as follows:
Class: Heavy Fighter
Armor: 7950
Guns: 6
Missiles: 0
Turrets: 1
Nano/Batt: 50
Cargo: 65
Level: 7/9
Handling Model: Stiletto
Mystere - A light fighter that is issued to the Bretonia Invincibles alongside the Rapier Sport. It has a classy look that is brought alive by it's rustic texture. Most pirates are not foolish enough to approach it, but if one would choose to foolishly do so, they would, most of the time, not be making it back in time for dinner.
The Mystere's stats are as follows:
Class: Light Fighter
Armor: 3700
Guns: 4
Missiles: 1
Turrets: 1
Nano/Batt: 32
Cargo: 25
Level: 5/7
Handling Model: Drake +
If you see a + it means slightly faster than
