Chips: Your updated 1.27 is fantastic
I would have posted this in the general discussion forum, but I can't connect to that forum (all others are fine)?
Anyway...
I'm off work today with Flu', so I've been playing the new updated 1.27 now for around 5 hours solid. Juni is still in Manhatten wanting me to do a mission for her (mission 3 I think?), however I have no inclination to go and see her, there's just so much to do with your new mod. Even being a Bounty Hunter is a profitable experience (love the way you can tractor in ejected pilots then sell 'em)
This is along the lines of how I imagined Freelancer would be when it was first released. The stock game rushes you through the single player storyline at too fast a rate I feel, especially if you want to level up for better weapons. I've done a fair bit of exploring and I've just about fitted all the max weapons to the new ship you start with now in your mod, and now I'm thinking about all these extra components you've included, like engine upgradeds etc... After that I may see if there are any new ships to purchase. I hope the rest of the game continues like this.. Oh yeah, I just remembered about Juni, well she's just going to have to wait a little longer
Thankyou for this mod, but it doesn't feel like a mod, it feels more like an official 'add-on', there's just so much more to do than the original stock game. You've turned Freelancer from a slightly 'kiddish' arcady space sim, into something a bit more grown up for me. It reminds me even more so now of the original Elite space sim that I used to play on a BBC model 'B' computer many many years ago
I highly reccommend Chips mod to anyone who hasn't tried it... it really is an 'Evolution' of Freelancer.
Top work mate and once again thanks.
