Man - All this talk about AI and how it is so tough...Well, I would like to see it harder. Killing NPC's is not hard if you have the right equipment and one thing I feel you MUST have is a shiled killer. I never used em much except for PvP, but after my first NPC fight in this mod, I knew I needed them.
Right Ultra, a shiled buster gun or missile is necessary to take care quickly of the npc's. Especially when you have to fight 6-8 of them, from two consecutive waves. I can recommend my EMP gun or turret since it has area damage as well. CLuster EMP's are also a good choice and fit on turret slots too.
Oh, and btw, i re-activated prison Mitchell from Alaska, it has evrything now, ships, weapons, commodities and gives missions too! I also added other 7(!) bases to the system, all gruped in the huge complex called Juneau Shipyard. These were in fact there, but not used...there are 2 research stations, 3 shipyards and 2 amuntion depots. The shipyards sell capital ships and freighters, and all bases are complete with equipment, NPC's weapons and ships.

The Alaska system now sounds like a lot of fun. It'll be cool to actaully be able to dock at hte Shipyards instead of just dreaming about what might be in them.
~~ I am at my maximum speed (even thrusting at 238) and yet I still can only go 894 to 895 (speedometer jiggles b/t the two). Like I said before, I have not changed anything abou the ship, but I still have this problem. When it came out, I installed hte gen+dagger patch, and since then all weapons work just fine on all XR ships, but this new problem just started happening a day or two ago... ? I don't really know what's wrong; while 894 may sound fast - and it is compared to regular Cruise speed - the hyper speed was higher than 1000 before. Just wondering if there's something I can do to correct this. Thanks

The Alaska system IS opened in v.3.4. as i said in the new thread, the beta version of the mod is available to download at http://www.rebalance.cybersprocket.com, courtesy of Franklin and his associates from there. The system also has encounters with pirates and nomads, and all bases give missions vs them.
Not to whine, but just out of curiosity, is anyone else experiencing a little slower hyper-enginekill? This is what I mentioned earlier, but it's getting on my nerves.
I just got a DagXR in v3.40, and right in the Iowa system (where I got it), I launched and could go to normal hyper, where speedometer goes up to "999" and then over to "---"
However, I noticed that a few minutes later, it was slower, around 894-895.
All the weapons work just fine, but this issue w/hyper also extends to other hyper-capable ships (like Cygnus' Missile Boat).
This mainly is bothering me because it worked before, and then it just decides to stop working properly; things doing that for no reason sorta get to me.
Any ideas? thanks
~~EDIT: Ah, scratch all that mess above. I'm dumb for not having figured it out sooner. I had FLRebirth.zip (the one that changes the Main Menu backgrouds) activated, and that was what's been screwing a few things up.
Sorry to be a pest :/

Also, I docked with LPI Sugerland for no real reason other than to sell my goodies before annihilating the instalation...... so I go to launch, and it says loading.... and then locks up.
So now I'm stuck on Sugerland. Can't leave, because the game crashes. I'm assuming it's a rebalance problem, as I could leave this god awful place before I installed it. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.

Great work on the mod
i have a prob though i get within 900 meters of a base/planet to dock then the screen goes black for a second then i'm docked what gives
where is the NX-01 i checked datastorm and it is not listed at all
on the kill BS missions the breif would say one type of of ship and reality would be something else (i.e. breifing says vorlon PK's and when i get there its omega destroyers)
installed 3.40 first gave that a try saw trent had glasses (cool)
put the 2.1 patch on suddenly no glasses (not cool) is there a file i can edit to fix this
When did I realise I was god, well I was praying and I realised I was Talking to Myself

They removed the docking scene because larger ships (capships) were giving problems, iirc. I mean, imagine fitting the Voyager into West Point's tiny locks, lol.
I did fly a few kill-installations random missions, and I think they weren't what was advertised either. I'll check again later after work.
If you're saying Trent's looks change from time to time then yeah, in the SP campaign sometimes he wears glasses and in some other cutscenes he doesn't. You can run the mp_costume.bat batch file, it also affects Trent in SP. He looks like an old guy in the Navy costume btw (!).
Okay, now I've been looking at a couple forums, I noticed not many mods advertise what exactly they're doing lol. I mean yeah lists of ships and guns and stuff, that's great, but I think a list of features would be more helpful, like "docking scenes removed", "made engines buyable", etc.
Btw I read some comments on other threads, it's weird ppl saying Rebalanced is too hard, imo it gets it just right. I suspect those people were expecting to jump into the border worlds early on and buy the "best" items. The Rebalance mod gets the 'balance' just right... makes the LFs and HFs also worthy of checking out instead of always just buying VHFs and Capships. In terms of difficulty, it looks like most of the stuff is spot-on already (although the Earth systems could use a little tweaking, see Rebalance forums re: complaints of too-lucrative trade routes available early).
If people expect to jump into Rebalance and cruise around in Sabres/Titans/whatever from the start, then they should look elsewhere... Rebalance gives a nice challenge. I like that, and judging from the number of posts here and on their boards, plenty of other people do too. Those whiners can always go to PerfOptions.ini and SET DIFFICULTY SCALE = 0.00 :p
