Crappy mods

I know alot of you put sum good time into these mods. But why, oh why, do most of them suck. Not the content but the runabilty. Seems to me that 98% of every mod out SCREWS up the game. Yes I'm upset. What mods out there WORK that are stable. I don't do( make) Mods. Consumer only. Most of ya would say don't ***** it's free, this and that. But as a consumer(unhappy one at that) most of these most mods just mess things up, and do not better the game. Does more harm than good.

If any one could make me a happy camper. A list of Just a few mods that work without crashing, booting, etc.etc. would be great. I have flmm1.2 and know how to work it.

If you think I'm being unreasonable, look at this forum, problems, crashes, bugs, etc. etc. Thats all I see. Not this mod kicks ass or this mod is really interesting.

I'm open to replies good or bad.

You are both right and wrong, yes the mods are unstable, but then look at the starting point. FL itself was a nightmare for stability issues, (and it is made by Microsoft after all).

I think we all just have to put up with it falling over now and again, and enjoy the content while it works.

ps I think a lot of the mods do 'kick ass'

Most modders are spending a lot of time creating these mods, but for most it is a learning process, so give them a little slack please. It´s unfair for you to say that 98% is crap while you probabably haven´t even tested 20% of all the mods out there. Besides, most people on these forums will only talk (and moan) about the bugs in a mod and you don´t hear much about the good parts of the mods, so for some people it seems the mods do more harm than good, but the opposite is true in most cases. I still haven´t found major crashes or bugs in most mods, but just minor errors and such. You should be a little bit more respectful towards the mod makers, as they are putting a lot of time in them. Modding a game (and certainly FL) isn´t an easy job, so sure there will be some bugs when released, but the mod makers are doing all they can to make the mods more stable the next time. TNG 1.6 for instance is very stable IMO, so you might want to check that one out.

I read about stability issues of FL since the game came out.

However, I NEVER had any issue with the original game. I'm running on a slightly o/c Duron1.1, Win2000 and the old (first) Radeon 64. It's rock-stable.

Stable Mods: The first "bigger" Mod I'm playing now is the Rebalance Lite. It's stable, but for some points I listed in a previous topic in this forum. And it's fun. It needs more power, so. Speed issues are the most common, which is related to my old Radeon, i guess.

Well......First of all, I never had any stable issues with the core game. No jumpyness, no lock ups, no boots. I do pay respect to makers and give them props. Yes, everything is a learning process (life is a learning process). It's,............just, that I have other games that didn't release any PDK or tools to mod with. And the mods that are being produced are very nice quality. All I have to do is dl, cliclk on the icon(selfinstalls). No boot problems, no locks, I don't have to delete any files, uninstall, reinstall, swithch this to that. See what I'm sayin?

OK. I should have not used the word crappy ( was a little desrespectful ) and I do appreciate(SP) all thier time and work. And yes,.... they are... FREE! Mybe my standards were a little to high ( being spoiled by other games mods ). I will take it in stride. I also have to keep in mind this game is still young. I tend to forget that. I have seen it on the shelves in March. I watched it for a few Months then bought it. I'm very happy with the game.

By the way the WTS world mod is cool. Worked without any hooks. I'm runnin a server this weekend to test it out. The servers Name is "Gothic Freelancer" it will have the mod, WTS World on there.

The PC I'm running is somthing I put together:
Uhmm. forgot the board. It's 2.1ghz, 60gb.
Nvidia Ti 4600 128mb. 9x
532mb ram ddr.
Pioneer dvd/cdrom 56x.
SB live 5.1/with a 90watt system(creative 2.1)
IBM 19' flat screen.
