no text or anything

I bought this game off of a friend, it installed fine and everything, I already checked around in this forum and all the solutions didn't help: I have the needed fonts in the "Fonts" folder, but when I load the game, I get to the main menu, and it's this:

and this sucks because I can't click anything, so I can't... do anything at all...

I have
Nvidia GeForce FX 5200
512 RAM
2.60 ghz Pentium 4
Microsoft XP Home Edition

the demo works perfectly, but the full game doesn't... any help?

Have you installed any mods or patches?
Delete the Demo, all files that could belong to Freelancer and make a fresh reinstall.
