auto turrets and "fuses"

2 questions...
im beginning to learn modding and such...

#1: have auto turrets ever been attempted? like you push a key and all the turrets on your ship start randomely firing at enemy ships arround you?

#2: how bout more fuses? it that what their called? like in the second mission in story when you save the prision ship and theres all that smoke and fire coming out of it? would that be possible to add into the game like more snoke and fire for 25,50,and 75% damages to your hull?

#1: I think auto-turrets have been attempted in the past, to no avail. I've heard some people claim that they got working auto-turrets that simply shot at everything, however I have a hard time believing that - all talk, no proof, after all.

#2: Certainly possible. You play Flak, go try out one of the Capital Ships - they pop and puke fire all day when damaged. In fact, in stock Freelancer, you know how your fighter catches on fire? Same thing, that's a fuse triggered at a certain point.

As for how to work the fuse, take a look at shiparch.ini - I'll use the Rheinland Battleship as an example:

fuse = r_battleship_body_fuse_player, 0.500000, 1
fuse = rh_battleship_burning_fuse02, 0.000000, 17325</font></pre>
Ah, here we go. See that rh_battleship_burning_fuse02? The last number, 17325, is the hitpoints the fuse will trigger at. Don't ask me what the 0.000000 is though, because I have no idea - changing it seemed to have no effect on the game.


See? This works out quite well ingame. ;P

ahh lol i would try it if i could get rid of the lag and get on in your mod =P

thanks for your support...i just thought cap ships would be more realistic if all the turrets were not all firing at the same traget
