Open Single Player

Hi there,

Im new to the modding side of FL, and theres something I want to be able to do... but have nowhere to start.

Chips Open SP is one of the most useful, and one of the best mods created. Recently however, Ive noticed more and more that mods have rank based systems for buying weapons and equipment, something which I have great trouble with. Many mods these days are for the MP only, but occasionally, every now and then, its nice to just play by yourself, load up up Open SP and do whatever you feel like doing, without the constraints of server rules or lag.

At the moment, the top rank in Open SP is 38. In the mod im currently SPing, this is too low to try any of the best equipment or ships. Is there any way to change this? To great embarrasment I must admit that I have tried to play around with the Open SP lite... but the rank stays at 38, I just dont know what to edit to change that. Please, if you can give me some pointers, or even better a straight out solution

Which ever ship you want to try, rank too high, mod the level lower yourself. Open MS Games/freelancer/data/equipment/marketships

marketgood = Scorpian_package, 30, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1 (Original)

marketgood = Scorpian_package, 1, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1 (New)

The first number is the rank required level. Simply find the ship you want and change the rank level, simple. Download search for Misc Data base file and it gives the code/listing for each ship in the Vannilla game.

I think there's a restriction on SP that the maximum level is 38. If i'm right its only on multiplayer servers with the 1.1 patch you can have a level higher than 38.
