you cannot make her start you out in MP with that ship as it will crash the server. However, to start SP it is not that easy if you have no experience!

Basically - create a loadout for the ship in the loadouts.ini, then open up the M01a.ini file in the missions folder (sub folder M01a) and scroll down for the part where it states what ship juni gives you.
Then - change the ship from ge_fighter, msn_playerloadout
to whatever the shiparch name is, whatever your loadout name is.

Now here is what you look for in the missions file:

[Trigger
nickname = mrp_accept
system = Li01
Cnd_MsnResponse = accept
Act_SetShipAndLoadout = ge_fighter, msn_playerloadout
Act_SetOffer = 21805
Act_SetTitle = 21800
Act_DeactTrig = mrp_reject
Act_RemoveRTC = missions\\m01a\\M001a_s005a_Li01_01_offer.ini
Act_RemoveRTC = missions\\m01a\\M001a_s005d_Li01_01_reoffer.ini
Act_RemoveAmbient = scripts\\story\\Li_01_Equipment_ambi_s005_ship_01.thn
Act_RemoveAmbient = Scripts\\Bases\\Li_01_Cityscape_gamestart_01.thn
Act_RemoveAmbient = scripts\\Bases\\Li_01_Equipment_ambi_s005_music.thn
Act_ActTrig = spe_initialize_end
Act_GCSClamp = true
Act_NagOff = greet
Act_ActTrig = bsx_newnnobj
Act_NNIds = 30020, HISTORY
Act_ActTrig = lce_setfirstobj

The line in bold is what you change to your ship, your loadout. You can use any loadout in the loadouts.ini file for this, however, the loadout MUST be supported by the shiparch entry. By this i mean if you give the starflier the sabres loadout - you will crashola to desktop. So, for many ships you can easily put what you like in. However, you'll figure it out soon enough. Right now i am modding my arse off to get some decent SP mods out for people, before everyone tries to take over again - LOL!!!

Arg - okay, get the PE explorer. use it to open up your FL.exe file okay?

So click on Open File.
Navigate to your Freelancer Folder
Double click on Freelancer.exe
Now, click on the View tab (nav bar of PE explorer)
Now click on resources near bottom of the drop down menu

You should now have three folders named:

icon Entry
Group Icon
Version

Now - click on version (+ sign to expand it)
Click on the 1 in a diamond (only thing that appears)
Now, right click and select 'edit resource'
Now,

under module version at the top, there are 2 lines of four horizontal boxes.
Changing the first number of each horizontal line will give you version *.0
Changing the second box without the first will give you version 1.*
Change both will give you version *.*

NOw - once you do that, further down the page you see the same number twice more, on the lines of product version and file version. Right click on each of these, then select edit.

Change product version as above for both doing that, then save the file as itself (freelancer.exe) and exit. You now have your own version.

Do the same with FLServer.exe to make your server a different version (as in appears to everyone in server listing as version *.*)

Chips

p.s - Moderators, if this is too far, please delete at will - and let me know by leaving somethign here instead! Sorry if it is, but there is nothign about doing this, so my concinse gave way!

hi how do you chage the ships sold at manhattin

Post Sat Nov 15, 2003 2:17 am

OKay - hope you got biniq as this is coming quick and fast!

Go into your Freelancer folder, to the data folder, to the equipment folder, and then open up a file called market_ships.ini with the biniQ tool.

Now this lists all ships for sale. First thing you see is the title for bases:

This is like:
[BaseGood
base = Br01_01_base

Now basegood means that it is describing a base entry, and the goods that are sold there. The base = is like the base is/equals in life.Tonight the base will be............New london. This is the code the game uses. To work out what is what, i suggest you get Subxeros miscillaneous database. It has all this in for you.

So, Br01_01_base is the first base in New London (Br01)

manhatten is Li01 okay (system)
the Li01_01_base means the first base, so Li01_02_base is the second etc up to 15 for manhatten (some are storyline only).

Now then - after that is what is sold there. Now then, they all start with

marketgood =

This means the thing they sell there is...............

This is followed by the nickname of the package for the ship (as in the ship and what you get with it, including engine, scanner, tractor beam, thruster etc etc),
so the package is the whole thing. The easiest way is just to learn what they are, to do this you need to look in the other ini files. Basically - Li signifies liberty, Br = bretonia, Ku= kusari, Rh = rheinland. Now then, when you see this:

re_package

It means rheinland elite (Valkyre) - trust me, you need to learn stuff! LOL. Anyways, the ship packages are done like that, with a load of numbers. there are two variables for these numbers, which are this:
x, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1
and:
x, -1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1

NOw the first set means it sells, the second set means it doesn't okay? Its just that way right. THe x is any number between 0 and 38, as this signifies the level you must be to buy it.
So - at this point, work out what ship you are after, then work out what the numbers mean, stick em together and bingo - your flying different ships.

Ie, for Manhatten:

[Basegood
Base = Li01_01_base
Marketgood = lf_package = 2, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1
Marketgood = lfr_package = 1, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1
marketgood = bf_package = 2, -1, 0, 0 , 1, 1, 1

Now then - which sells and which don't?

the first two sell, the last one don't. Change over alll but the first numbers to set the other ship to sell - eg

[Basegood
Base = Li01_01_base
Marketgood = lf_package = 2, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1
Marketgood = lfr_package = 1,-1, 0, 0 , 1, 1, 1
marketgood = bf_package = 2, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1

Now the lfr_package doesn't sell there, and the bf package does - simple eh?
By the way, for that list it is:
Patroit
Rhino
Cavalier

Good luck - keep in touch!

Look back through the threads though, this has been covered alot of times now, as have many many of the other topics you might ask!

where do you get biniQ i got bini i try to mod it but it wount let me save it

Post Sat Nov 15, 2003 3:27 am

I got mine from the downloads on the main page, its right next to the side nav bar with the editing forums and starlancer forums. You need to use the save as command, then either type the name in exactly again.ini, or highlight it and click save (file type as ini)

So - you open up goods.ini - it becomes goods.ini.txt

You edit this file, then when it comes to saving, click save as.
Select the file type box to be either: *.INI or *.* (all file types)

If it doesn't have that box - don't worry. Now, enter the name to save:
Goods.ini

Hit save button - your done!

Is there any way to change travelling speeds in the trade lanes?

Post Sun Nov 16, 2003 9:52 pm

I see you and Acu:0shot got stickies

Post Mon Nov 17, 2003 1:36 am

CHange tradelane speeds- dunno what the speed is, so no idea about changing it either. However:

Trail you asked a while back about the station mod on the front page i take it? Its cos the position of the station is in the planet manhatten - make the posistion soemthing like -34000, 0, -26000 and you will see it sat somehwere infront of manhatten. To make it other stations - just change the archetype =
to other stations (solararch.ini file) and the loadout = line will need changing to something correspoding to that station. Find in the loadouts.ini file in the SOLAR folder.
