There might be a jumphole to Alaska that I'm unaware of, but you can't get back there in SP as far as I can tell. I can negotiate the minefield but the game won't let me activate the jump gate.

Yes, they do. Here's what we have so far:

1. Liberty's building a kick-a$$ secret fleet in the Alaska System;
2. The System is the best-guarded of all;
3. There is a Jump Gate to it that you can see right from the demo, in the NY System (middle of the Sirius Galaxy) - strategic point;
4. There's no other access point to it throughout the game;

All the emphasis (and programming) that went into inserting "Alaska" into the story leads just screams out the word "expansion" or "sequel" in my head. What do you guys think?

Meh. It screams, "Huge multiplayer let down!" to me.

Even if you could access it in MP, I don't think anything particularly special would be there. Even if there was, how much would it add to the game...surely not that much.

My point...kinda disappionting that it's a restricted system, but a letdown? HELL no! But that thing about a military build up...it would be cool if they used that in a sequal, like someone previously said.
