Freelancer Sticky Forum

I have an idea, you know how Stinger has made a closed sticky in the Spoiler forum with links to all the stickies? well why not create a Freelancer Sticky Forum, and then, like in my History one, it doesn't pop up in the spoiler forum and make Stingers thread redundant!

If not, then oh well. Just doing my bit!

not interested?

Not completely sure I understand what this would do to enhance. Explain further?

you know how you've done the compilations in the spoiler and tutorial forums? well if somebody comments in them, like in my History thing, the thread reappears on the list, hence making the compilation redundant! Simple really, just a thought

The sole purpose of the compilation threads are so there are not 1747120985709865 stickied topics in one forum. It serves it purpose rather well. I'm considering doing the same in another thread that is getting out of control with the large number of stickied topics. Think of the clutter without it.

Well we could lock the threads linked to the Sticky, that would prevent them from resurfacing .

I don't think we should just lump all the stickies in one forum, because they have their own 'categories'. Especially sensitive are the Spoiler stickies, since they shouldn't be read by those who come only to find Modding stickies, for example.

I can re-sticky all the ones to prove how cluttered it would be. Just say the word. But right now look at the Freelancer General Editing Forum and how many topics are stickied. Now, close your eyes and imagine 3+ times that many showing up in the Freelancer Editing Tutorial Forum if we go back to the way it was. We're talking about a forum page that will need to be scrolled down 2 - 3 times as much just to find what you're looking for.

Sorry, but to me the idea of sticky is for SPECIAL items. Otherwise it just becomes a forums FULL of nothing but stickies. Also, putting all the ones that were stickied together in one post does cut down on the flooding/spamming within those threads tremendously. It keeps them informative rather than a place for people to make useless comments that further cloud the subject.

I could be wrong, but I've not heard one person say put it back the way it was until now. Note - If I do put them all back in there as stickies I'll be damned if I am ever going to do that again because it did take forever to combined them the first time around.
