Error message *Common .dll was not found*

This is my first post here and I need some help, I D/L FLMM and Crossfire 1.53 and tried to install it, and after the installation was over the error message common .dll was not found came up so I deleated all of my saved games and deleted the FL folder and reinstalled FL and tried again but it didn't work, I also looked in flmm after the attempted installation of CF 1.53 and it wasen't there either so now what should I do?

Reinstall FL. Common.dll is part of OpenSP mods (as of right now- this will be changing when the new FLMM is out). It is required to play the game.

I have already Reinstalled FL it didnt' work the same thing happened, isn't the .dll part of the mod?

Delete the Freelancer folder, then reinstall. A reg reinstall dosn't always fix it, you have to remove all teh files, then install, so deleting the freelancer folder will do that, then install the SDK 1.3 and you would be ready to go.

What I did was deleted the FL folder and than I reinstalled and it still didn't work, gave me the same error message, I D/L it from here and the server site and I have SDK installed.

Activate Open SP, as it has that file. Then search computer for the file and it should tell you were it is.

Now do I activate Open SP from flmm, is that one of the mods that's in flmm, or do I D/L Open SP, put it in flmm than activate it?

I think everyones getting their wires crossed here, the Content.dll is the one in the OpenSP not the common.dll.
I sometimes get this happening to me, for no reason a file in FL disappears, I've narrowed it down to FLMM and large mods, heres hopeing that the new loading process in FLMM 1.4 stops it.
Your best bet would be to extract the common.dll from one of the cabinet files on your FL disk and then add it to your FL's exe folder.

Could you explain how to do this or where the cabinet files are located.

I just did a search for the file on my computer. Is showes up in the Freelancer exe folder, as well as several mods. Its a 1.68 Mb files, if nessisary, copy and pase one from a mod file.

I did the search and found the file and did put it in where you said but I get the same error, and the Crossfire D/L is not a Crossfire1.53.zip.flmod file it looks to be a regular zip file.

Question.

What I did was deleted the FL folder and than I reinstalled and it still didn't work, gave me the same error message, I D/L it from here and the server site

What did you download from Lancers? Demo game? If yes, it probally is missing the file as it should. A little more info is needed.

I D/L the Crossfire mod from Lancers, but not to worry all is good now, the mod seems to work, I reinstalled FL, SDK 1.3 again and D/L the Crossfire mod again and put it in flmm, I have to make sure it really works after work today.

the problem is that many people that have tried to download the mod from lancersreactor had problems because their downloads were corrupted (mainly the download had a smaller size than the mod originally has)

so my suggestion is to use a download manager for the downloads on LR
