Hello! Take me to your leader!

I completed FL's storyline a couple years ago; it was one of my most satisfying gaming experiences, right up there with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, and more compelling in some respects than EVE Online. After solving the storyline, I remember landing on some planet in Kusari space, deciding to retire for a while; I knew the game hadn't really ended (and I managed to hold on to my save-game data until just several months ago). In recent days the game has proven to be replayable.

I used to lurk around these and other forums quite a bit, and when I unshelved FL and its strategy guide the other day, I wondered if there was still any sort of online community. It seems there is still a lot of life in FL, and the old multiplayer issues have been sorted out, as well as a wealth of mods, content and an impressive unofficial patch (thanks EOA). So I just wanted to say hi to you people, and welcome any recommendations for mods, FL-related websites, etc.

Hi, welcome to the forums!
If you don't mind, I will against my will suggest you our new server that is coming up soon. ClanSpace will be hosting the Last Hope Mod either today or tommrow for public use. It's going to be an interesting ride for a lot of people who your more then welcome to come join us in the fun.
There are also Colours Elite server, Crossfire sevrer, CHSP Server, and the Monkey Universe Server
They all have their own custom mod, I am not sure about the player base. Besides CHSP which is a german player base mostly but they are great.

I'm going to finish replaying the campaign before I jump on a server. BTW a couple of those websites are nicely done, including the ClanSpace site. Nice Kusari battleship screeny in your preview section. I can't remember, is that from the original game? (I haven't yet made it out of Liberty space; this time around, I'm enjoying the open-ended universe as much as the storyline.)

Edit: Hey look at that, must be doing something right, I'm a 2nd Lieutenant now.

Edit: Oops, apologies for completely missing this part of the rules and regs. another forum I frequent does this for lazy posters automagically, so I'll need to make it a habit to remember the rule over here).
