Warriors of the Sky

This thread covers the development, testing and deployment of the mod, Warriors of the Sky, which I have produced with the help of a number of wonderful folks

Here are links to all of the current versions. I'll see if I can't find Alpha 1 and put it up, but it's even more primitive than Alpha 2.

Here you go folks... development from a very primitive idea to Beta 1. Beta 2 is still in development, and I'll be using this thread to talk about it as I get closer to release.

Not that I know of. Necrolord said he was putting it on his LAN. Hopefully this will change once Beta 2 is (finally) out.

The good news is that I may have finally made a breakthrough with SURs. More on this when I'm sure I'm not wrong again (for, like, the billionth time), but I think I might just have it this time... dunno about concave stuff yet, but it looks like I have finally figured out what's up with convex things that weren't registering well...

Concave/vex surs? Sounds interesting. Could this be the start of "flyin-able" bases?

Yes. And cities that people will be able to fly through. And other things requiring custom SURs.

Hey Argh,

I was wondering if it is possible to have a storage/banking system for characters in a MOD. Ive seen it mentioned in other threads, and with you being experienced in the matter, I figured I should ask you. Many thanks.

The easiest way to have banking that I know of is to have invulnerable pieces of Equipment that have a set worth (both buying and selling - they need to be available as Commodities) that one can buy multiples of and mount on hidden Hardpoints. That's a very solid method- if they cannot be looted, cannot be destroyed, and are worth what you paid for them, then you can easily have more than a billion credits on your ship. I don't think anybody has actually done it that way, but it's the easiest method I can think of.

Another method is to have special "characters" for clans, etc., which are in invulnerable ships, that serve as "banks". This is pretty crude, but it's the method most servers use.
