In therory, a local store would be the cheapest. Stores that sell computers also should carry the tools as well. Same with the cables. Here even WalMart would have these items. Are there any of these type store near you?

Independent retailers, especially in big cities, often have computer parts for ridiculously low prices compared to big places like Circuit City or CompUSA.

PCI network cards, particularly 10/100s, can be had for as little as $5 apiece in some places. If you're paying more than $10-ish for one you're being ripped off.

I'd have sold you the lot for £30.

Nevmind, sycho's in South Africa. It'll be quite the rip-off in Rand, but oh well. Just based on the exchange rate it's probably minimum R25-30 for a network card.

Taw, well, since I haven't gotten any of those yet you can still do that

We don't really have that many computer shops in SA, the biggest basiclly is Incredible Connection, then other chain shops do sell PC stuff, or rather, mainly PC's printers etc.

Computers still are a pretty expensive thing to be in over here!

I've got a toolkit of various heads and sizes of screwdrivers, various 10/100 PCI nics (mostly D-Link DFE530TX/DFE538TX) 60 feet of CAT5e and all the RJ-45s and cleats you could ever want. I don't have a spare wire-strimmer though, nor have I got a spare cabling tool. You can have anything I've got spare if you want, but getting it to Umboto Gorge might be a bit pricey esp for the cable cos its heavy.

Can you send it in such a way that the person receiving it pays for the package?
I don't mind paying for it, it's just a question of how to get the money where is should be.
Maybe drop me a line on MSN later? I'll probs be around tonite.

Or however you see fit
