CCAPP

Hello all, its been a while.

I'm having this strange situation with a symantec service known as CCAPP. Now I know that it is a resource hog, but I've been watching it closer the past couple of days. Granted, I leave my computer on 24/7, it still shouldn't use this much memory.

I made sure Live update wasn't running, nor a background file scan. I have NIS 2005. Anybody else having these problems?

BTW: My page file is over 1 GB right now... Hardly anything running....

you've answered your own question; it's a resource hog. the Norton Common Client is very demanding, but probably you did the standard install which will always trounce even a botty-kicker system. uninstall, then reinstall using custom options and turn some stuff off.

better still, sack NIS and use Macafee, CA, or even better Kaspersky

Hum, I don't know much about computer stuff, but as for what Grand said, I agree with dumping Norton. Norton sucks, their customer servace is crap and it doesn't work like it should all the time. I would recoment getting Stop-Sign, that was rated number one and in my opinion, is the best virus/spyware protection there is.

i personally don't like an anti-virus software that lightens my wallet, i recomend Avg free version it's using 7K memory give-or-take between three services on my system right now but it's not running a scan, it uses 9,132 of memory scaning as one service (no memory pig here )
