ff, the thing is..my friends got computers this last summer that are the equivalent to a very high end Alienware. I matched it all up from their prices and alienware's, and the Alienware came out almost $2,000 more

is Alienware direct in the US or do you purchase through retailers?

over here it's in the distribution channel to retailers, no direct sales. so more expensive unless there's a stock clearout or sale on. wouldn't buy one anyway, but I s'pose its a good option for someone who wants a decent gaming system without any mither.

Though the only place I have seen them, is Best Buy Stores.

I have no idea I'm still using my Nentendo.
Although upgrading is rough sometimes and the fans make it hover somewhat.

Yes if you want a top end one with dual opterons etc then build it yourself. I have done for my server and I did save money. Roughly about £300 sterling or $600 to $700. Its higher spec...

But I just want a P4 3.4 nothing special and in Euorpe Dell cant be beaten on price or so I thought and have been told by many people.....

But when its all said and done it comes down to how much you earn, therefore that will define what you think is expensive...
