Cut Scenes! Cut Scenes!
Hey there. I got Freelancer two days ago and have been playing it a lot since, I went out and found a load of great mods from this very site and loved them all (Even though the Rebalance showed up how much I need the bad guys NOT to use Shield Batteries or Nanobots) And basically I love the game.
I had Elite way back when, on the C64 and this brought back fond memories, I liked the Freedom and the different missions to be accepted. I loved the handling and fighting systems.
But....
And this is a realllyy big but....
Why are none of the cutscenes skippable? While I Appreciate they could hold some vital piece of information that just HAS to be imparted and so the first time around NEED to be shown... The fourth or fifth time tends just to be massively Frustrating.
In Particular. I am desperately trying to beat Hovis in a race in the Dublin system ( Why I can't just shoot him down... after all it's worked in the past =)...) and there is quite a bit of talking before the actual race starts... The fact there is a race at all is annoying, and through metal rings at that also rankles a little. But not being very good at it and then having to wait while they talk...
Hovis: I'm big, I'm bad, blah blah blah...
Over and over really just slams down how linear the game really is...
Phew, now that little grip is out of the way I'd again like to say how much fun this game is.
