Resolution Problem...

Okay, first of all: My previous monitor is malfunctioning so i have an older monitor now, the max resolution it can handle is 800*600 because otherwise, the screen goes all blurry.
I reinstalled Freelancer earlier today and i discovered that the default resolution of Freelancer stood at 1024*768 which my monitor can't handle, i've tried editing the freelancer.cfg to
[;Display
fullscreen = 1
size = 800,600
color_bpp = 32
depth_bpp = 32

Still, it doesn't work, can someone either give me a solution, or put a .cfg online where the resolution is set at 800*600?

Thank you in advance.

i had the same problem with my computers, one vidio card wouldnt support the higher one, the one that worked had it set to 800 600 the other i coulntent even get to the menu.

then i switched vidio cards and now both work cus their set at 800 600

this is just how it worked for me, i didnt even intend this to happen but other people could probly help you with the prefs file...

I don't even have a freelancer.cfg.

I do have these two instead:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\perfoptions.ini

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\freelancer.ini

Both contains screen resolution settings, but it seems that the first takes precedence - which makes a lot of sense since two users may prefer different resolution settings.

So I guess you should edit your perfoptions.ini.
