I have just re-bought the StarLancer disks. How can I make them playable so that all I have to do is go to the explorer and click on them and they will play with Windows Media Player or Divx? Or, if no one quite seems to have the time to explain it to me, could someone point me to a website that can? Thank You.

It's a bit complicated, but it can be done.

First, you need "SL Extract". Don't know for sure how it is spelled but try searching for it here in the Modding Utilities section and you'll find it. Now, in the HOG archives that StarLancer uses, you will find a number of bik files. Those are the videos you want. To watch them, you'll need the "RAD Videos Tools" (Download). After watching the videos to determine which one you want, you can use the RAD Video Tools to convert a bik file into, say, an avi file, which makes it watchable using the Media Player.

Try out if this avi file works as intro movie for Freelancer. If not so, then you have to look at the specifications of the original FL movies and try to create a video file with those specs. That, I think, can also be done using the RAD Tools.
