Milkshape-CMP-Importer

Alright, I downloaded the FL Utilities and other goodies zip, extracted, found the folder for the ms-CMP-importer(CMP to MS3D) but, alas, theres no executable.
Theres plenty of other files that have "ms-CMP-Importer" in the file name. Theres even a help file for the importer. But no importer.

So, am I stupid(as in, is that MS-DOS file that seems ot do nothing actually doing something?) or is there somethign wrong there. If so, can somebody give me that importer?

Sigh.

I am not going to help you- but I will tell you the obvious:

1. MS3D costs $20. Buy it. I'm fairly certain that most of us who're good at this actually paid real money for it- I can't speak for Harrier, etc., but I think that the coder who made MS3D deserves my money.

2. In addition to the CMP importer/exporters for MS3D, you'll need the MAT exporter as well.

3. You need to read every single Tutorial here before you ask another ... obvious ... question. Drizzt's covers a lot, Harrier's covers s'more... and mine covers the very last parts, including how skinning works, and why.

If you're going to use Milkshape for modelling then by all means buy it. Argh is right someone has spent a lot of time working on it and deserves to be paid.

However if you're going to use it soley to export models to FL 9(like I do) then I feel your pain. Unfortunately Milkshape is the only game in town when it comes to exporting models to FL which sucks but thats the way it is.

Any further discussion will probably get me in trouble but I find it hard to pay money for essentially an export utility so..........

I am having similar troubles, i downloaded the CMP to ms3d file.
Copy and pasted the .dll and the .hlp files into the ms3d folder, but i dont know where to go from there. How do i use it?

The help file was useless

You put the .dll to milkshape's root folder, then in Milkshape(running the app) in "File" towrds the middle or bottom there is two options

Import=>
Export=>

Under there is all your conversions and such.
