.gmax or .max importer for milkshape

Hello, just as the title denotes, is there an importer for milkshape that allows you to import models from gmax with extentions either as .max or .gmax?

Phoenix_IRA,

There is a thread devoted to this subject in the editing utilities forum.. there is one for max 5 to milkshape tho I dont know where you will find it... perhaps you may find the info you need in that thread...

Failing that.... if you want a max5 to milkshape converter there is one available, but it is limited to the max polys that milkshape will support.

Um, you can use the Quake 3 model format... to export from Gmax to MS3D... it's what I do. It'll support Groups and different Material assignments, but you may have to re-weld things when it arrives in MS3D.
