Ingame Model/Texture Bug

I have a problem with one of my models in freelancer, some black areas on the model are appearing ingame when there is none in the model...I have tried welding all the verts unwelding all of em, etc. nothing works...

Here's a picture of the problem... http://members.rogers.com/hellraisermike/bwing.JPG

Can anyone help me out?

Yep, had the same problem. Try reversing the vertex order, then exporting it (even if it is black in Milkshape). If that doesn't work, delete the face and re-create it. That solved my problems in the past, although I guess it might not work for you

Right, thats screwed up backfaces you've got.

Triangles are only one sided, but by default Milkshape tries to pretend they're two sided. In the Milkshape 3D, perspective window, press right mouse button, and untab "Draw backfaces", and your ship will be full of holes as seen there.

Now, firstly try selecting everything and clicking "reverse vertex order", if you still have lots of holes you're really kinda in trouble, and it's tricky to fix. The best way to solve it is to like "hide" half the model, then "Select -> Face" each of the inverted triangles, and click "Reverse vertex order" to flip it the right way around. Then unhide and hide the otehr half the model and repeat.

Ultimatly the main solution for this is to always ensure draw backfaces it turned off , and to fix any inverted faces as they happen.
