Indeed, if 80+ people were working on the main campaign, tangent campaign missions, sub-plots, mini-campaigns, side quests, more detailed dynamically generated missions, unique NPC's, local lore, news stories, etc. then the community as a whole would get a far better game. Far better than FL and far better than just about any other game on the market in terms of game play content. I've read most of the fan fiction forum so the excuse people don't know how ranges from weak to flat wrong. Most people can write a simple story, those who can't write can certainly brainstorm story ideas. I hope everyone knows how to use a word processor.
At this point the question is whether or not people are willing to work on a FL sequel themselves. If people are worried about the copyright issues then create a new fictional canon thats similar to FL but 100% original.
