Technical explanation please!

Hullo again,

If I try and activate a mod which adds stuff (not a total conversion), and you activate the mod "Complete Nav Map", why cant you dock with any of the new bases. And also, if you go through a new jumphole, you keep going in a continuous loop forever. The games still working, but you cant come out of the jump hole.

For example, the Just For Fun v.3 mod + Complete Nav Map leads to this :

There is this mooring fixture above the docking ring on Manhattan. You try to dock with it, as it leads you to another base. However, the animations just keeps going. You actually end up going through the planet and out the other side, but the animation is still going. You have to load a saved game.

I just wanted to know WHY this happens. I know how to solve it (de-activate the complete nav mod), I just wanted a TECHNICAL EXPLANATION.

It's hard to understand what you did but it sounds like you activated two mods.
One may have overwritten some files from the other mod.

Technically it would be hard to answer.
You could try to run FLScan and see if that tells you what the problem is.
FLScan Version 1.3
FLScan is a program that will scan your modified Freelancer files looking for errors saving you time and headaches. You can direct the program to scan certain areas of your project or to simply scan the whole lot. An error report will be created which details the problems, common causes and possible ways to fix the problem. FlScan can also repair THN files, generate pathfinding information for a mod automatically and inspect your mod files as you work and report errors as you make them.

Other than that either don't use two mods that may clash or don't use the mod that don't work like it's suppose to.

Basically, using 2 mods together can and usually will cause problem unless the 2 mods were designed to work together.

As stated above, each mod will modify files and the second one may be over writing files that the first mod needs to work correctly or it may reference things that the first mod does not have or has removed.

So, basically, don't use the 2 mods together as you found a fix for getting the first mod to work.

yeah man you dont want to be mixing mods together it could be lethal. let me tell ya i was testing with my mod 1. dockable hispania 2 . the order wants you fron tyco . this is what happened i entered into the osiris in alpha and exited from the hispania wild stuff.
