Bizzaro Server problem
Ok, here's the deal.
I recently networked 2 computers through a linksys G router with an Adsl connection shared between them. That isn't the issue, just background info.
I can create a server in freelancer over the internet however, I, however, have about a 10% chance of actualy connecting to it. During these no connect times, it doesn't display the ping. Neither I nor anyone else can connect to the server when it does this. I've only successfully connected and hosted a game twice with it. However, more often then not, it simply will not connect and gives me the "it's taking longer then expected blahblah window." I've had it connected, then restarted the server to add in player kills and suddenly it won't work no matter the settings. I can however, connect to other servers no problem. I have no firewall other then the router's but having it on or off doesn't effect the situation. I've tried port forwarding to no avail as well. This one is baffling me. I did not initialy have this problem with dialup a week before.
Specs: Win2k with all the updates
Netopia dsl modem
linksys wireless G wrt54g router
fast ethernet 10/100 card
aDSL through Earthlink, provisioned by Bellsouth
Oh yeah, freelancer 1.0 with the 1.4 SP fanpatch.
