nVidia cards and nebulae
I thought upgrading from a GEForce2 to an FX5200 video card would give me much better performance in the areas of the game where you're in a cloud or nebula. But the performance is still awful. Does anyone know if there's any fix for this other than using a completely different brand of video card? I've been told that it's the result of the way the nVidia cards do "fog" - which looks great but is slow.
Battles in nebulae get much more difficult because the ship doesn't maneuver properly with the video card slowing things down so much.
I still managed to play the whole story line in under 17 hours of game play, but sections with nebulae - and explosions that occupy most of the screen - make maneuvering and fighting difficult.
Pentium 4, 2.1GHz
768MB RAM
Albatron FX5200 128MB video card
DirectX 9.0b
Windows XP
1024x768x32bit mode
I can't find anything in the game settings which would help, but perhaps someone knows of something "under the hood"?
