I made a little bit of a tactical error, in that I didn't like the directory "My Documents" (I use "Data" instead), and I deleted the My Documents directory some time ago because I was tired of all of my programs trying to put stuff there. Yes, I really did delete it; using a DOS boot disk.
Now, I cannot find my saved games in Freelancer.
Surprisingly, saving and loading still works without problems. I have a bunch of saves, and they all load fine. I just have no idea where it is saving to.
To try to find and back up my games (I have read about the crashes here), I re-created the My Documents directory, and I created a My Games directory inside of that. Then I created Freelancer directories in each of these directories. I re-started Freelancer, and loaded a game, and re-saved the game as FreeXYZ so that I could do a search on both of my local hard drives to try and see where it is saving my games. Unfortunately, the search of C and D came up empty.
Where the heck is it saving my files on disk? Is it saving them on disk? Anyone have any idea?
