After watching season 3 finale for stargate atlantis maybe we could do a "horizon" platform, where a big missile is fired with torpedo hardpoints that can fire off individual nukes hehe, that would be cool.

Especially as a battleship weapon or a planetary / base assault weapon.

WHat you are talking about is an ICBM. These already do this and in the current arsenal of the US and the Soveit Union.

Umm, fadius, there's no Soviet Union anymore.For more than 15 years as I remember.
Only Russia now has ICBM(from soviet unoin countries).
My country used to have them till 1994-1995.

ICBMs are intercontinental ballistic missiles. It isn't an ICBM if its space to space;just a big nuke.

A "super" missle with AI/NPC attributes and has a battery of sub-missles (with limited supply)

I belive THIS is possible.
Complicated somewhat...but possible.

hope you don't make it launch copies of itself though
would really bog down a server after a few hundred torpedoes with AI were out launching more of themselves at nausium

The closest I've come to doing that up to date is setting up a Sunslayer
Torpedo with Increased Tracking Ability, Turning Speed and increased damage output.
I've created an "Armaggedon Torpedo" that would suit this "upgrade" nicely and
it's large enough to accomodate a NPC pilot. (this thing is LARGE and can be mounted only on Capital ships)

It would require it's own unique ids name, info and ini's.
It could be hardpointed out for additional weapons, such as missles.
The really big drawback to that is, I don't think you can set up at type of
individualized subtargeting system on it to track more than one target at a time
except that perhaps it just shoots at the closest approaching target.

Obviously handling the faction rep for that would be difficult, as it would probably have to target everyone, maybe specific types, for navy, etc, and it would only target those, probably a seperate faction for it would need to be created.

man! it looks like a lot more stuf needs to go into this thing then i though!
I just hope that this is possible, cause if it is then we have somthing totally new and potantially very dangeros in our hands

The "NewCharacter" ini file says that Trent belongs to "co_ic_grp". That's Interspace Commerce. So if you could set the torpedo to that faction, it should fire at Trent's enemies....I think.

Ouch...

But this also rases a whole bunch of problems. If we can get this to work, and shoot at the cosest target, it would ba souting everything, including things that you don't want to be shot at. For example youre in a huge battle between Liberty and the Rouges. The Rouges are hostli and liberty is frendly. You shoot the torpedo at a Rouge and insted of falowing him it splits up and attacks a liberty cruiser. Now you have a whole fleet after you.
