ingame affiliation

some of you remember an old topic i started about cracking the 0.9 limit to reputation value which brings ewith it the affiliation to a certain faction.

somehow that topic was deleted (id=38329 if anyone cares), so ill just put my thoghts here.

i managed to make an affiliation mod that could give you the option to choose a faction to affiliate with at the start of the game, and not by selecting it when u activate the mod, but by chosing this INGAME and getting a nice console message like:
Lost affiliation: old_faction
New affiliation: new_faction

also i put this in practice into a small mod, that adds few more concepts based on this.

also will be available on TLR (submitted before new year)

unfortunetly i wont be able to mentain the test server up too much, but you can test it also on your own servers.

the stuff you found in the mod (models, etc.) is not to be used without my permission.

hey buddy yor mod is cool you want to add some stuff to it maybe a version number regenerating shields to npcs nomad order ecounters more battleships spinning planets . if that sounds cool email me at [email protected] or at the evil empire revolution forums or here. i can start work right away.

@Cold_Void: I know it can be made hacking the exe, i also started in the old thread to dig on this, but on the way fond a way to doit by ini's so i liked the ideea. It also can be done by xml when u activate the mod... Is just one of the ways.

Also the ini way gives you more control. Once the exe is cracked u can affiliate with any faction and this is a RP mod, i dont want that to happen.

@richard s: you can use whatever concept you want from the mod, not the models tho. If you want to contribute to develop the mod itself, contact me at korben at slfhq dot net, since the project is buried at the moment.
