Ship won''t dock

I have a modified version of the armored transport that won't dock on a base. It will launch from a base but when you want to dock you can't.

when you request permission to dock the docking agent grants permission and then you just maneuver around forever trying to dock but you never go to the cinematic or actually dock.

the ship does have can_use_berths applied.

What should I be looking for?

look at station enties... they have a radius value somewhere (its been quite some time since i messed in inis). expand the radius et voila

there's a lot of stations...

I would have to edit each one, correct?

so far i've just tested freeport 9. I'll have to see what station i can dock on and change FP9's radius to match.

I think I fixed it. It seems that bank angle and nudge force may have been the culprits.

Now I have a different issue.

An unmodded player noticed that when I used my tractor it wouldn't shut off.

The tractor being used is the ge_s_tractor_01

This is the same tractor used by all other ships in the game. Why would this one start acting funny?

Ideas?

Robocop,the only time i've seen that is if the player has bad lag.I once had a tractor out for about 5 minutes once..i just sat there and marveled at it's beauty

yeah, after checking with a couple other players it looks like the first player who reported it was experiencing significant lag. He's a known dialup *shudder* user.

yeah...ship mass can cause problems if it's out of balance with the type of ship.
It gets to be trying at times.
I've also noticed when using a Reinland Gunboat engine on certain ships...it will also cause this docking problem...simply because the ship is manuvering too fast. (I usually switch to manual control and get my ship lined up directly in the path of the docking point before I hit the dock command and this usually works pretty well.)

What would cause a ship to lose engine kill speed too quickly?

I'm using the armored transport engine on this ship. Linear drag has been reduced to 599 from 3000. The engine loses speed very quickly when using engine kill.

Mass perhaps? I've not heard of that one too often
