Making bases dockable

Ok, im involved with Phoenix RPG mod, and ive been working on a new "nomad system"

Only problem is, im having trouble making the Dyson city and the Nomad lair, bases dockable, can anyone help me with this?

Hi!

Of course you could make these two bases dockable via normal docking points. However this is not as easy as another solution.
You can simply add docking rings to the city and the lair, as if they were planets. Then you can easily dock and do not have to modify the model putting dockingspheres on it.

Hmm, is it possible for me to do this in flexplorer?

As i have added the lair and dyson city into the system, but they show up as small dots, and come under "other objects" so it doesnt seem to be able to let me put in docking rings..

Also, ive been told that you can copy and paste the coding for the last mission is sp, so that you have a working dyson city, where you have to destroy the generaters to knock down the shields and thus you can dock, but i dont know wherew to begin with this.

Hi Captain,

My latest version of the Just_For_Fun mod has a dockable nomad city in the nomad pink world. I modded the model to add docking points. You could copy that for your mod. You need the .cmp file and the solar in solararch.ini to make it work.

Umm, i just dl'd the mod, and i can onyl find the 3db file for the dyson city, is this right?
And is 3.0 the latest version?

Woops, my bad. The .3db is the file. And yes, 3.0 is the latest available version.

Ok, i found the files and set it up accordingly, but can you tell me where you put the loadout for the bases, as when i try to insert it, i get an invalid parameter set. and the bases doesnt go in.

Do you mean solararch.ini(Configuration) or loadouts.ini(weapons and lights)?

its ok, i just edited the exisitng dyson city loadout to fit with the modified dockable, and now it works

hmm, seems ive hit a snag, the sheild of the dyson city is still up so i cant actually dock :S

I believe that is why BE suggested a docking ring as you can place it outside the shield!

yes, but the one problem is, it shows up as a base and not a planet :S

Or you can just make the docking radius big enough so you don't hit the shield.

Oh yes, I don't use a loadout for my Nomad city. That will solve it too.

Another solution is to clone the loadout and remove the shield.
